Jean-Pierre’s MSNBC Interview Goes Just Like Biden’s Presidency – Disasterous

Karine Jean-Pierre made her media rounds over the weekend, but the friendly territory she once enjoyed at MSNBC has clearly vanished. The former White House press secretary, who spent years running interference for Joe Biden, was met with an icy, almost hostile reception as anchors pressed her on her role in concealing the president’s obvious physical and mental decline.

One of Jean-Pierre’s worst moments came when she went after Special Counsel Robert Hur — a move that aged about as well as Biden’s approval numbers. As reports noted at the time, Hur had interviewed Biden about his alleged mishandling of classified documents from his days as a senator and vice president.

His findings were damning: the former president wasn’t cleared because he was innocent, but because he was deemed too mentally incompetent to stand trial. Hur’s report documented Biden’s memory lapses and cognitive failures in stunning detail.

When those findings became public, the White House didn’t respond with humility or accountability — it went straight into attack mode, with Jean-Pierre leading the charge to discredit Hur and dismiss the report as “gratuitous.” It was a textbook example of this administration’s instinct to gaslight rather than come clean.

Remember how badly Jean-Pierre was at her job? Here’s a reminder:

After President Donald Trump took office, the audio of that interview was finally made public — and it confirmed what many had long suspected. Karine Jean-Pierre and her team had deliberately misled the press about key parts of the exchange, including the false claim that Robert Hur had inappropriately mentioned the death of Biden’s son.

In reality, it was Biden himself who brought up the tragedy unprompted — as he frequently did during his presidency — before appearing to forget the year it occurred. The recording exposed not only Biden’s confusion but also the White House’s willingness to lie to cover it up.

Jean-Pierre was asked if she had ever apologized to Hur, and it was a question she didn’t seem prepared to answer:

HOST: Special Counsel Robert Hur, when his report came out about President Biden and the classified documents, you stood from the White House podium, February 2024, and you said that his commentary was gratuitous, that it was unacceptable, and that it didn’t live in reality, and clearly the American public saw another side of Joe Biden’s mental acuity during the summer’s debate. Robert Hur was unemployed for a period because of the attacks from the Democrats and from the White House that you were at the podium leading. Have you apologized to Robert Hur.

JEAN-PIERRE: I mean (stammers), look, what I can say to you is I saw the president every day. It wasn’t one-offs. It wasn’t once in a while. I saw him everyday.

HOST: But just in this case, have you gone back to somehow who you had pretty sharp comments about…

(Crosstalk)

JEAN-Pierre: He is something that was sharp. He was sharp, he was, he was…

(Crosstalk)

JEAN-PIERRE: What I’m saying is that my reality was this. My reality was somebody that I saw every single day, who was sharp, who pushed his team, who was understanding very clearly of the policy of history. That was what I saw. I can only speak for what I saw on a daily basis for two-and-a-half years, almost four years actually. And, I was White House press secretary for two and a half years, and that is the president that I know. Someone who woke up every single day and was very zeroed-in and focused on how to deliver for the American people.

The fact that Jean-Pierre is still pushing the “he was sharp” narrative is downright unbelievable. Anyone with a functioning pair of eyes saw what was happening — and for years, I documented Biden’s constant mental and physical stumbles on a near-daily basis. Frankly, I got tired of writing about his decline, but it had to be done. It was glaringly obvious and had a major impact on the 2024 election.

The notion that Karine Jean-Pierre was somehow living in a parallel universe where Biden was “sharp,” “focused,” and “zeroed-in” is pure fantasy. And how do we know she doesn’t even believe it herself? Because the moment she was cornered on the issue, she pivoted right back to her identity talking points — rambling about being “Black” and “queer” instead of answering the question:

HOST: Do you have any regrets at all for anything you said while you were speaking on behalf of this administration?

JEAN-PIERRE: I am (stammers), look (pauses)

HONST: It’s a simple yes or no…

JEAN-PIERRE: No, no, no, no, no, you’re asking for a yes or no question. I want to put some context in it, too.

HOST: Sure.

JEAN-PIERRE: I woke up every day, I woke up every day, very proud to be the White House press secretary. I woke up every day as a black woman who is queer, who had never, no one had ever seen someone like me at that podium, standing behind that lectern. It was an honor and a privilege to have that job, and I did it to the best of my abilities…

For Democrats, running to identity politics has become the go-to panic button — a shield they use when the facts turn ugly. It’s their way of saying, “Back off, or else.” Jean-Pierre spent years lying to the American people on behalf of Joe Biden and herself, and now that she’s cornered, she’s got nothing left but the same tired routine. Being a “Black woman who is queer” doesn’t erase her role in one of the biggest political cover-ups in modern memory, and it certainly doesn’t excuse her lack of honesty. But contrition? Don’t hold your breath.

That said, it’s hard not to laugh at the sudden moral awakening of the mainstream press. Outlets like MSNBC are now pretending to be tough interrogators — but where were they for the last four years? At RedState and other outlets, we wrote hundreds of stories documenting Biden’s obvious decline, complete with video evidence that went viral across social media.

There was no secret about his condition. Everyone saw it. Yet MSNBC and its peers spent nearly his entire presidency insisting that he was fine — and branding anyone who said otherwise as a conspiracy theorist or peddler of “disinformation.”

So yes, it’s satisfying to watch Jean-Pierre squirm and get a taste of her own medicine. She deserves every second of it after years of gaslighting the public. But let’s not pretend the press that enabled her is suddenly noble. They were complicit in the same deception — and now they’re just scrambling to rewrite their own history.
