Democrats post-2024 continue to demonstrate two things after getting their butts handed to them by Republicans: 1) They haven’t learned a single lesson from that walloping; and 2) They’re tripling down on the lunacy.
Case in point: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (who, by the way, should remain in the minority – we don’t ever want him remotely close to the Oval Office).
For context, Democrats have turned lawfare into a central pillar of their political strategy. Ever since President Trump left office in 2021, they’ve made it their mission to weaponize the legal system against him — dragging him through endless investigations, indictments, and court battles in a desperate attempt to do through prosecution what they couldn’t accomplish at the ballot box.
New York Attorney General Letitia James built her career on one promise — to “get” Donald Trump. She bragged about it, campaigned on it, and then tried to make good on it by targeting the former president’s businesses and even moving to seize his properties.
Pollster Frank Luntz warned her that such a move would only boost Trump’s popularity. He was right. Now, in a twist of irony, James herself is facing charges of mortgage fraud.
And suddenly, the Left is crying “weaponization of the justice system.” That’s rich. For years, Democrats lectured America that “no one is above the law” while gleefully weaponizing prosecutors, judges, and bureaucrats against their political opponents.
What they really meant, of course, was that Republicans aren’t above the law — Democrats, apparently, are untouchable.
Instead of learning their lesson, Democrats are doubling down, using the same corrupt tactics that turned our justice system into a political hit squad. Enter Jeffries, who just announced plans to investigate private citizens who donated to Trump’s White House ballroom project — a stunning abuse of power even by Democratic standards:

Jeffries went a step further, claiming — without a shred of evidence — that donors to President Trump’s White House ballroom project were likely trying to “curry favor” with the administration. It’s a baseless smear straight out of the Democratic playbook.
“More likely, this is part of what Donald Trump has been doing since day one of his presidency: running the largest pay-to-play scheme in the history of the country. And probably soliciting donations from people who’ve got business before the United States government,” Jeffries said.
“And all of this is going to have to be investigated. It will. All of this will have to be uncovered. It will. And these people are going to be held accountable, no matter how long it takes,” Jeffries continued. “And that’s a warning to all of these people participating in this scheming to manipulate taxpayer dollars and, of course, to destroy the people’s house. The White House belongs to the American people. It doesn’t belong to Donald Trump.”
Uh-huh.
Let’s not forget — 75 million Americans voted for Donald Trump. It’s their White House too. Yet Jeffries went on MSNBC and effectively threatened private citizens for making lawful donations to improve that very building. It’s an outrageous act of political theater meant to bully Trump supporters and score cheap headlines.
And the whole thing is absurd on its face. Presidents throughout history have made changes and additions to the White House. President Trump’s proposed ballroom — announced months ago — is no different.
The “destruction” Jeffries is wailing about? It’s an overhang on the East Wing, not the residence, not the West Wing. The ballroom will be a permanent addition for future administrations to use. Trump isn’t building himself a personal palace — he’s improving an institution that belongs to the American people.
Jeffries’ meltdown isn’t about architecture or ethics. It’s about keeping the outrage machine fed — because without Trump, Democrats have nothing else to talk about – including Bill and Hillary Clinton, who literally stole around $28,000 worth of stuff from the White House when they left.
But this is all the Democrats have left. They can’t run on policy because their policies have failed. They can’t run on results because their cities are collapsing and the border is wide open. So instead, they attack, threaten, and smear anyone who dares to challenge them.
