Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre decided to dust off Hillary Clinton’s infamous “deplorables” line in a swipe at her successor, Karoline Leavitt, on Tuesday — and it backfired spectacularly.
Leavitt didn’t hesitate to fire back, delivering a blistering response that exposed the arrogance behind Jean-Pierre’s remarks.
During her media tour promoting her new book Independent, former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared on The View and decided to take a swipe at her successor, Karoline Leavitt. Jean-Pierre took offense at Leavitt’s blunt description of the Democratic Party’s voter base as “made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals.”
“It’s deplorable,” she said. “I’m using that word on purpose. Because they don’t seem to understand—this is the Trump White House—that they don’t work for just one man. They work for the American people.”
Says the woman who hid her boss’s declining mental capacity for years and lied to “the American people” for a living.
Karine Jean-Pierre couldn’t resist taking another cheap shot — this time mocking Karoline Leavitt over her now-iconic three-word comeback to a smug Huffington Post reporter who tried to score points by asking who picked the location for the Trump-Putin peace talks.
“Your Mom did,” the White House press secretary replied.
“The White House press secretary is not about doing online trolling,” lectured Jean-Pierre (who, by the way, is so ‘ashamed’ of Democrats she claims she’s no longer one). “It is not. It is an honor and a privilege to have that job and to speak on behalf of the most powerful person in the world.”
Blah, blah, blah.
You’d think Karine Jean-Pierre would’ve learned her lesson by now — you don’t walk into an intellectual gunfight armed with a Salad Shooter (remember those?). But that’s exactly what she did.
Leavitt didn’t hold back. In an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, she absolutely torched her predecessor, calling Karine Jean-Pierre “bitter” and reminding viewers of her long record of dishonesty behind the White House podium. Leavitt accused Jean-Pierre of lying to the American people daily and pointed out that she was one of the key figures behind the cover-up of President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline — right up to the point when he was quietly replaced by an autopen.
“With all due respect to my predecessor, she is one of the main culprits of the greatest cover-up and scandals in American history,” Leavitt fired back. “She took the podium every day and lied to the press about the incompetence of her boss. And on this book tour, she continues to lie.”
Leavitt then dropped the hammer, reminding Karine Jean-Pierre exactly where she stands in today’s political reality — a “bitter has-been” peddling a book instead of owning up to her role in one of the most scandal-plagued administrations in modern history.
“I’m very proud to work for the greatest president in history. I know Karine unfortunately worked for the most incompetent president in history. So I guess she has a reason to be bitter,” Leavitt added. “But being bitter will not sell your books.”

You know what else won’t move copies? Spending the entirety of Joe Biden’s presidency lying through your teeth to the American people — and then, when you finally have the chance to tell the truth, doubling down on the deception.
Jean-Pierre stood behind that podium nearly every day for years and told Americans, with a straight face, that Joe Biden was not only competent but so sharp he could “run circles” around his staff. Everyone knew it was nonsense then, and it’s laughable now.
She deserved every bit of scorn heaped on her by Leavitt.
