President Donald Trump’s administration just delivered some bad news to the anti-ICE crowd. The Department of Homeland Security announced that over the past nine months, federal agents have arrested an astounding 480,000 illegal criminal aliens — a clear reminder of why strong border enforcement matters.
While left-wing activists chant slogans and block traffic to “abolish ICE,” Trump’s team is out there actually protecting American communities. These arrests underscore exactly what Democrats refuse to admit: enforcing the law works, and the country is safer for it.
At a Monday press conference, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem credited President Donald Trump’s leadership for the removal of hundreds of thousands of illegal criminal aliens who, under Joe Biden’s presidency, had been freely roaming American streets.
Noem said the turnaround was the direct result of Trump’s decisive border policies and his insistence on restoring law and order — a sharp contrast to the chaos and neglect of the previous administration:

“Today marks nine months since President Trump has been in office and since he began his work to restore American safety for families who live here,” Noem said. “What he has accomplished for the American people is nothing short of extraordinary.”
“We appreciate what he has done to make us safe again, to secure our borders, and to make sure that he’s protecting our people,” she added. “Since January, the Department of Homeland Security has arrested over 480,000 criminal illegal aliens. Seventy percent of those individuals have criminal charges against them or have been convicted of those criminal charges.”
“Across the country, we are making communities safer so that families can thrive and they can prosper so they can enjoy the kind of freedom that this country was established to provide,” Noem added.
It’s staggering to think that under the Biden administration, there was virtually no pushback as roughly 70 percent of criminal aliens — individuals charged with or convicted of serious crimes — were allowed to roam free across our country. How could any administration be this careless? What happened to protecting American citizens first?
For countless families who have lost loved ones to crimes committed by illegal aliens, this isn’t some abstract policy debate — it’s personal. Their pain is a direct result of the Biden administration’s total failure to secure the border and enforce the law.
Now, under President Trump’s renewed direction, DHS and its law enforcement officers are finally doing the hard, necessary work of restoring safety and order. These men and women are doing what the Biden White House refused to do: protect Americans.
And yet, the left’s response is to attack ICE officers — the very people standing between our communities and violent criminals. It’s disgraceful, and it shows exactly where the Democrats’ priorities lie — with politics, not public safety.
DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin recently spoke to Fox News about the insane number of assaults against ICE agents:
“Our law enforcement is facing a 1,000 percent increase in assaults against them. It’s not just [U.S. Border Patrol] Chief [Gregory] Bovino who has a bounty on his head,” the DHS spokesperson continued, pointing to the $10,000 bounty for the murder of Bovino by a Latin Kings gang member.
“We actually just found out from recent reporting that there’s more bounties. We have reports $2,000 for a single ICE agent to be killed. $5,000 for a mid-tier officer. It’s really disgusting what’s happening,” McLaughlin went on to say.
We’re so fortunate to have President Trump’s leadership on this.
