L.A. County Gives ‘Middle Finger’ To Citizens With Latest ‘Emergency Declaration’ to Assist Illegal Aliens

Just how far off the deep end has the left in Los Angeles County gone? A lot — and they proved it in spectacular fashion on Tuesday. Check this out from a local ABC affiliate:

Los Angeles County officials voted Tuesday to declare a state of emergency that gives them power to provide assistance for residents they say have suffered financially from ongoing federal immigration raids.

The move allows the L.A. County Board of Supervisors to provide rent relief for tenants who have fallen behind as a result of the crackdown on immigrants.

The local state of emergency can also funnel state money for legal aid and other services.

The report even suggested this could be the first step toward an “eviction moratorium.”

Are they serious? In a county already drowning in homelessness? With fire victims still displaced months later, left to fend for themselves? Instead of addressing real suffering, Los Angeles officials are once again focused on shielding illegal immigrants and fighting federal law enforcement — the very agencies trying to restore order.

And of course, notice how the media — in this case, ABC News — plays along, calling them “immigrants” when what’s really meant is illegal aliens. It’s a deliberate distortion, flipping both reality and the law upside down.

This kind of policy not only undermines federal authority but also sets up new problems for local residents, including uncertainty about rental enforcement and property rights:

Landlords are “still reeling” from the COVID-era freezes that cost them “billions of dollars in uncollected rent and prohibited annual rent increase,” said Daniel Yukelson, CEO of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles. [….]

But, he said, the association isn’t aware of anyone unable to pay rent due to immigration enforcement.

“If local jurisdictions once again allow rent payments to be deferred due to ICE enforcement activities, this will lead to the further deterioration and loss of affordable housing in our community,” Yukelson said Monday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement had a great response to this idiocy, with spokesperson Emily Covington said the “only state of emergency is the one the residents of Los Angeles face after electing officials who give a middle finger to the law.”

BREAKING: In a statement to @FoxNews, ICE is blasting LA County’s vote today to declare a state of emergency over recent immigration raids, which will give LA County officials the power to provide taxpayer funded rent relief, legal aid, etc to people “affected” by ICE raids. ?? pic.twitter.com/V5upnuLfQK

She added:

“Perhaps the board should ‘supervise’ funds to support law-abiding fire victims who still haven’t recovered instead of criminal illegal aliens seeking refuge in their sanctuary city. While they publicly fear-monger, I would be shocked if they didn’t agree with ICE removing a child rapist from their neighborhood.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t mince words. She said the county’s actions amounted to aiding and abetting lawbreaking by helping illegal aliens evade ICE detention. Instead of cooperating with federal authorities, local leaders are effectively shielding people who broke the law — and doing it with taxpayer resources.

Bondi also highlighted the hypocrisy of the situation, noting that because of the Schumer Shutdown, the very federal employees working to keep Americans safe — including ICE agents — are “probably not going to get a paycheck.”

Absolutely pathetic, and any commissioner who voted for this should be removed.
