CNN’s Kaitlan Collins just couldn’t hide her frustration that nobody outside the Beltway bubble is outraged over Trump and Republicans roasting Democrats with sombrero memes. Even Sen. Ted Cruz has gotten in on the fun, and Americans are laughing right along with him.
The trend kicked off Monday, when the shutdown fight became inevitable. After Trump’s meeting with congressional leaders ended without a deal, Schumer and Jeffries rushed to the cameras outside the White House to do their usual blame game routine. Minutes later, Trump’s team dropped a video showing Jeffries with a fake mustache and sombrero, while Schumer muttered about how terrible Democrats are. It was hilarious — and effective.
Schumer, clearly stung, actually took to the Senate floor to denounce the meme. And in peak out-of-touch fashion, he reminded everyone that it was AI-generated — as if Americans can’t tell the difference between a cartoon mustache and the real thing:

Democrats are furious over the memes — which only makes it funnier. Their outrage guarantees that even more will be made, and Trump’s team has obliged, putting the videos on a loop inside the White House Briefing Room. It’s pure trolling genius.
Meanwhile, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins looked absolutely aghast that this was happening. The pearl-clutching was almost as entertaining as the memes themselves. Democrats can’t win the argument, so they’re melting down over satire — and in the process, they’re only amplifying it:
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins can’t believe the Trump admin is doubling down with memes and mariachi music in the WH briefing room:
“They simply don’t care about the criticism."
Correct — and that's exactly what’s driving the propaganda press insane. They're powerless. pic.twitter.com/hduEvgFT3q

Exactly — we don’t care. We don’t care what CNN says, and we sure don’t care what Democrats think. This is what we voted for: a president who doesn’t pull punches, who lands haymakers on the fake news press and refuses to play by their rules. They have no power here. Trump is in the White House, the memes are flying, and yes — the sombreros will keep spinning until the government reopens.
And let’s not forget why we’re even here. Democrats have chosen to hold the country hostage over $1.5 trillion for illegal alien healthcare and guaranteed funding for NPR. That’s their hill to die on. The American people don’t want a shutdown, and they don’t want new spending — especially not for illegals or left-wing pet projects.
Democrats managed to back themselves into the losing end of both arguments, and now they’re flailing – about memes.
