Since President Trump’s second term began, the war on immigration enforcement has gone from ugly to downright dangerous. Month after month, attacks on ICE agents and detention facilities have escalated — what started as protests and vandalism has spiraled into open violence.
Now anti-ICE extremists aren’t just waving signs or throwing bricks; they’re literally pulling triggers, taking aim at federal agents in cold-blooded attempts to kill them. This isn’t “activism.” It’s political terrorism, and it’s getting worse by the day.
Over the summer, violence hit frightening new levels. In Alvaredo, Texas, an attempted ambush on the ICE Prairieland detention facility left a law enforcement officer wounded after multiple attackers botched their plan.
But the most chilling incident came just this week in Dallas, when a gunman stormed an ICE field office and opened fire. According to FBI Director Kash Patel, his clear intent was to assassinate ICE agents. Instead, he struck three detainees, killing one, before turning the gun on himself.
Then there’s Portland, Oregon—ground zero for anti-ICE chaos during Trump’s first term and again now. In June, federal agents had to beat back yet another assault on a local ICE facility, where agitators reportedly smashed through the glass front doors, breached the building, and vandalized the exterior.
But the antics have only gotten darker. In a more recent stunt, Portland’s so-called “protesters” dragged out a guillotine while blasting a song with the chilling refrain, “We got the guillotine, you better run.”
Now, however, President Trump has finally had enough, per the New York Post:
President Trump ordered the Department of War to dispatch “all necessary” troops to Portland, Oregon, to secure the city and safeguard Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel, he said Saturday.
Trump also confirmed he is “authorizing Full Force, if necessary,” amid a spate of daily protests against the federal ICE detention facility in Portland that have intensified since June.
“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists,” Trump declared on Truth Social.
“I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”
Here is an example of what they’re going to be dealing with:

Trump’s announcement came on the heels of his Monday declaration labeling Antifa — which maintains a strong presence in Portland — as a terrorist organization. Stay tuned.
