The DOJ has not confirmed the move, but even the hint of scrutiny is enough to send shockwaves through the political establishment. If true, this could mark the first serious challenge to one of the most influential and unaccountable networks operating behind the curtain of American politics. And we can always hope!
According to ABC News, multiple senior federal prosecutors across the country have received instructions to prepare investigations into the Open Society Foundations, the philanthropic organization funded by billionaire Democratic donor George Soros, according to sources who spoke with ABC News.
The directive, issued Monday by Aakash Singh, a senior official in the office of Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, was sent to U.S. attorney’s offices in at least seven states, including California, New York, Illinois, Michigan, and Maryland, sources said.
According to the letter, prosecutors were advised to consider potential charges that could include material support to terrorism, arson, wire fraud, and racketeering. As for the Justice Department, it didn’t deny the reports, but officials did not come right out and confirm them, either.
“This DOJ, along with our hard-working and dedicated U.S. Attorneys, will always prioritize public safety and investigate organizations that conspire to commit acts of violence or other federal violations of law,” a spokesperson for the Justice Department told ABC News.
Let’s be honest: the line between “Democrats” and “people who cheer on political violence” has just about vanished. These days, the overlap is so big you’d need a microscope to spot any difference.
Top Democrats are out there tossing around words like “Gestapo” to smear ICE agents, calling President Trump a “tyrant,” a “dictator,” even a “Nazi.” They know exactly what they’re doing — whipping up hatred, stoking anger, and nudging their base closer and closer to violence.
Here’s the kicker: if you cut a check to a Democrat candidate today, odds are you’re funding somebody who’s either openly justifying political violence or winking at those who do. That’s not “progressive.” That’s reckless, dangerous, and flat-out un-American.
Soros and his web of orgs have been funding groups that have, in turn, been engaging in this reckless, dangerous – and potentially illegal – behavior. It’s about time we had a president who looked into him.
