President Donald Trump is enjoying the strongest approval ratings of his presidency, according to a new Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll. The survey shows 55% of Americans approve of the job he is doing, while 45% disapprove.
The figure marks a high point for Trump, who has generally polled in the mid-to-high 40s throughout much of his time in office. His latest numbers outpace his previous peak of 51% recorded during his first term, reflecting broader public support in the early months of his second administration, the Daily Mail reported.
Pollsters noted that the surge in approval comes amid a series of aggressive policy pushes, including tariffs, a federal crackdown on crime, and a renewed emphasis on domestic manufacturing. The results suggest Trump has solidified support beyond his core Republican base, drawing stronger marks among independents than in past surveys.
“This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump,” James Johnson, JL Partners co-founder told the Daily Mail.
Trump’s approval rating has climbed six points since July, when a Daily Mail/J.L. Partners poll put him at 49%, with the latest survey suggesting voters are rewarding his aggressive stance on crime.
The boost comes after his Aug. 11 executive order deploying federal troops to Washington, D.C., a move that sparked protests but coincided with steep drops in violent crime. The figures bolster Trump’s argument that his law-and-order approach is delivering results — and that public opinion is lining up behind it.
“It might seem surprising, but the news cycle has been ace for the president in recent days: his crime surge in DC is backed by the public, and economic news has been positive,” said Johnson.
Meanwhile, a separate survey also shows a positive bounce for Trump, likely ending any talk among Democrats about impeaching him.
An expansive survey by John Zogby Strategies showed that Congress’ monthlong recess and a lull in media coverage of the late Jeffrey Epstein boosted Trump’s approval to 46%, the Washington Examiner reported Friday.
“He’s had a bounce,” said Jeremy Zogby, managing partner of John Zogby Strategies, in a recent podcast, according to the Examiner. “He’s bounced back.”
Zogby’s firm had been tracking a decrease in Trump’s polling throughout the summer. “This is what tends to happen, at least as far back as I can remember: you get past the first 100 days and then the support starts falling off,” he said.
Trump’s rebound in August was aided by Democrats’ failure to capitalize on his earlier polling slump or present voters with a clear alternative agenda.
Pollster John Zogby said the president’s resurgence has likely put an end to Democratic chatter about pursuing impeachment. “At 46%, that is not an impeachable president,” he said.
