Bondi Fires DOJ Staffer Who Disrespected National Guard Soldiers

Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Friday that a Justice Department paralegal who flipped off a National Guard soldier on her way to work has been fired.

The employee, paralegal Elizabeth Baxter of the DOJ’s environmental division, arrived at the department’s “4CON” building in Washington’s NoMa district on the morning of Aug. 18 and told a security guard she had made the gesture toward a Guardsman stationed outside a Metro stop, Bondi said.

“F**k the National Guard,” the now former employee added while clocking in. Shortly after noon that someday, DOJ security cameras captured Baxter extending her middle finger towards the National Guard while saying “F**k you.”

A week later on August 25, Baxter clocked in for work again and once again bragged to the DOJ security guard that she told the military personnel to “F**k off.” Bondi said the paralegal was formally terminated Friday after security footage was reviewed and multiple witnesses were interviewed.

“Pursuant to Article II of the United States Constitution and the laws of the United States and based on your inappropriate conduct towards National Guard service members, your employment with the Department of Justice is hereby terminated, and you are removed from federal service effective immediately,” the letter reads.

Bondi told the New York Post the department has a zero-tolerance policy for employees who engage in such behavior or seek to undermine the administration’s agenda. “This DOJ remains committed to defending President Trump’s agenda and fighting to make America safe again. If you oppose our mission and disrespect law enforcement — you will NO LONGER work at DOJ,” she added.

Baxter worked in the same building as Sean Dunn, another DOJ paralegal recently fired after allegedly assaulting National Guard personnel with a sandwich before fleeing the scene. Despite video evidence, a D.C. grand jury declined to indict Dunn on felony assault of a federal officer.

By contrast, dozens of Jan. 6 defendants were handed years-long prison sentences for lesser offenses, with the same jury pool readily approving upgraded assault charges. Prosecutors under the Biden administration have secured conviction rates near 100 percent against Jan. 6 defendants.
