A man accused of using a Subway sandwich to assault a federal agent on a Washington, D.C., street earlier this week has been charged with felony assault.
The charges against 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn were announced Wednesday by D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro, who stated, “The police are not out there to get pushed around or beat up.” According to authorities, video from Sunday night shows Dunn shouting that a group of federal officers were “fascists” before hurling his deli sandwich at them, hitting a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in the chest.
“He thought it was funny. Well he doesn’t think it’s funny today because we charged him with a felony: Assault on a police officer,” Pirro said in a video posted to X. “So there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else!”

Bystander video shows 37-year-old Sean Charles Dunn confronting federal agents deployed under President Donald Trump’s order to federalize the D.C. police department and tackle violent crime in the capital. In the footage, Dunn can be heard shouting “fascists” at the agents and yelling, “F*** you!”
The criminal complaint says Dunn confessed to a DC police officer, “I did it. I threw a sandwich.” President Trump began deploying federal officials to support local police in fighting crime in DC on Aug. 7.
In a separate statement, US Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that Dunn worked for the Department of Justice, but that she had seen to it he was terminated.
“I just learned that this defendant worked at the Department of Justice — NO LONGER. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ. You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement,” she said.
