Trump Reveals ‘Secret Weapon’ To Thwart Dems In ’26 Midterms

President Donald Trump’s campaign and affiliated political action committees have surpassed their ambitious $1.4 billion fundraising goal for the 2026 cycle more than a year ahead of schedule—positioning the former president to flood the midterm elections with record-breaking financial support.

Immediately after securing a second term, Trump launched an aggressive fundraising effort with a bold objective: to build a massive financial war chest aimed at protecting vulnerable Republican seats in the House and Senate, ensuring GOP control of Congress throughout his presidency.

Advisors revealed in May that Trump had already raised $600 million—an unprecedented figure at that stage—and said the full plan carried a projected cost of $1.4 billion.

On Friday, Trump’s campaign confirmed that his network of committees had exceeded that goal, with $1.4 billion in combined cash and commitments flowing into the Republican National Committee and his flagship super PAC, Make America Great Again, Inc.

In February, Trump promised to be a significant force in the midterms, rewarding congressional allies who support his agenda. “You know, in presidential races, they say when you win the presidency, usually the midterms don’t go well?” he said, a reference to the GOP’s loss of the House in 2018. “I think we’re going to do great.”

“I think we’re going to really increase our margins by a lot,” Trump, 79, told Republican governors at a retreat that month. “So we’ve got that money, and I got to spend it somewhere … if I can’t spend it on me, I guess that means I’m going to be spending it on some of my friends, right? A lot of my friends.”

A source close to the president described the fundraising total as “unprecedented” and predicted it would give Republicans a significant “leverage” advantage in key swing districts that could determine control of the House. “The funds streaming in show how much support is behind President Trump. Having the financials to support candidates in the midterms will be a huge advantage,” they told the New York Post.
