California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, widely seen as a likely 2028 presidential contender, has been accused of “inciting violence” against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in comments he made during a public appearance this week.
Newsom’s troubling remarks come after ICE agents have experienced a more than 800 percent increase in violence committed against them, especially in Democratic strongholds like California, since President Donald Trump launched his mass deporation plan shortly after taking office in January.
“I worry about people’s lives. I’m telling you, we’re on the verge. This is serious. I mean if someone just randomly, if I’m walking down the street with my kids and someone grabs me with a mask on and tries to throw me in an unmarked van, and I’m looking at my kids? I’m surprised someone hasn’t gotten hurt. Someone is going to get hurt,” he said ominously. “So the best thing to happen to this administration, maybe they have to come to a realization.”

Several people on the X platform went on to accuse Newsom of trying to incite even more violence against ICE agents.
Border czar Tom Homan again warned on Thursday that anyone who is caught harboring illegal aliens will be charged and prosecuted, as would those who attack or impede Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents during the performance of their duties.
” Look you have all of these crazies on the left that they feel emboldened. Because you have members of Congress, members of the Senate comparing I.C.E. to the Nazis, and racist and terrorist groups,” Homan told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “So they have these people thinking members of Congress think they are racists and terrorists, then we can act upon.
“Look you are right the assaults are up over 800%. And the media attacks them as they are trying to wear masks trying to protect themselves. They are not only attacking ICE agents, they are going after their families and their children. So President Trump made a statement the other night and I agree with him. This is over,” Homan continued.
