President Donald Trump made significant inroads with Hispanic voters in the 2024 election, according to a recent Pew Research Center analysis of validated voters. He secured 48% of the overall Hispanic vote, compared to Vice President Kamala Harris’s 51%.

Among Hispanic men, Trump held a narrow lead, earning 50% to Harris’s 48%. Hispanic women, meanwhile, favored Harris by a slightly wider margin—52% to Trump’s 46%. The results underscore a continued trend of growing Republican support among Latino voters in recent election cycles.

Those numbers reflect a dramatic shift in Hispanic voter preferences over the course of Donald Trump’s political career. In 2016, Hispanic voters favored Democrats by a wide 38-point margin. That gap narrowed to 25 points in 2020 and shrank to just 3 points in 2024.

Trump’s support among white voters remained steady at 55% in both 2020 and 2024. However, he nearly doubled his support among Black voters, rising from 8% in 2020 to 15% in 2024.

Asian American voters also showed a significant shift. In 2020, they backed President Joe Biden 70% to 30%, but in 2024, they supported Vice President Kamala Harris by a narrower 57% to 40% margin—a 23-point swing toward Trump.

Latinas showed the most dramatic four-year movement. In 2020, just 33% supported Trump, compared to 65% who favored Biden. By 2024, Trump’s support among Latinas jumped to 46%, with Harris holding 52%—a 26-point swing in his favor, Just the News reported.

Meanwhile, Republicans’ prospects for holding off a Democratic surge in the 2026 midterms appear to be improving, according to a new poll.

A new poll from the Napolitan News Service and RMG Research shows Republicans with their largest lead of 2025 on the generic congressional ballot, holding an 8-point advantage over Democrats. According to the survey, 52% of respondents said they plan to vote Republican, while 44% indicated support for Democrats. This marks a significant shift from May, when Democrats held a narrow lead—48% to 45%. In April, the poll showed Democrats ahead by five points, 50% to 45%.
