Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene launched a fierce attack on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, calling her a “pathetic little hypocrite” for backing U.S. military involvement in Ukraine under President Biden, only to adopt an anti-war stance now.
The New York ‘Democratic socialist’ condemned President Donald Trump’s recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities as “clearly grounds for impeachment,” accusing him of a “grave violation” of constitutional war powers. AOC quickly took to the public stage, describing Trump’s actions as “disastrous” and “impulsive,” warning that they could entangle the nation “for generations in a war.”
She and other Democrats have begun proposing articles of impeachment, arguing that the president violated the War Powers Resolution by ordering military action without congressional approval. “The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers. He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” AOC wrote on X.
In Greene’s view, AOC’s sudden shift—from supporting proxy wars abroad to expressing moral outrage over another foreign conflict—reflects a broader pattern among Democrats: consistently voting to fund overseas military engagements when it suits them, then adopting an anti-war stance when politically convenient.
Greene emphasized her point by highlighting that AOC’s claims of “moral outrage” are undermined by her prior vote to support funding for the war in Ukraine under the very administration she frequently criticizes.
