President Donald Trump’s approval rating saw a notable boost in May, widening the margin between supporters and critics compared to the previous month’s polling.
At the end of April, a joint national survey conducted by InsiderAdvantage and the Trafalgar Group showed Trump with a narrow 2-point edge among likely voters—46% approved of his performance, 44% disapproved, and 10% were undecided. Since then, the numbers have continued to trend upward for the former president.
By the time Trafalgar released its end-of-May and early-June survey, support for President Trump had climbed significantly among likely voters. According to the latest results, 54% of respondents said they approved or strongly approved of Trump’s performance, while 46% expressed disapproval or strong disapproval. Notably, the 1,098-person survey included slightly more Democratic voters than Republicans.
Meanwhile, Rasmussen’s presidential approval tracker showed Trump at 53% on June 2, just 3 points below his approval rating during his inauguration week. At that time, Rasmussen reported that Trump had reached record-high net approval ratings, surpassing those from his first term.
“President Trump’s approval rating rising suggests growing public support for his policy agenda,” MRCTV host Justine Brooke Murray told Blaze News. Murray added, “As more Americans reject the blatant bias of taxpayer-subsidized media, which is essentially compelled speech, efforts to rein in spending and enforce accountability may be resonating more broadly.”
Mass deportations of gang members and terrorists likely contribute to the approval rating, Murray noted, concluding, “Americans are relieved they’re no longer being treated as second-class citizens by their government, which had previously sacrificed our citizens to our nation’s own enemies.”
