Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk suggested Friday that he may ultimately support the Trump-endorsed “Big Beautiful Bill,” following a week of strong opposition and a high-profile clash with President Trump after a statement by Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.).
Musk, who has criticized the bill for not going far enough to reduce the federal deficit and address waste, fraud, and abuse, appeared to soften his stance after following Schiff’s remarks, which accompanied a video the left-wing senator posted to his X account.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this – but @elonmusk is right,” the far-left senator wrote in an X post of his own. Without providing specifics, the staunch “Green New Deal” advocate claimed the bill is “filled with all sorts of hidden and dangerous far-right pork.”
The post was met with widescale mockery and derision, but also included a citing by Musk who wrote: “Hmm, few things could convince me to reconsider my position more than Adam Schiff agreeing with me!”
In a surprising twist in the ongoing feud between Musk and President Donald Trump, a little-known account with just 17 followers on the social media platform X managed to sway Musk, in just three sentences, to consider reconciling with the commander-in-chief.
In a post published on X, user @Fab25june, replied to one of Musk’s tweets saying, “This is a shame, this back and forth. You are both better than this. Cool off and take a step back for a couple of days.” Musk then replied to the user, saying, “Good advice. Ok, we won’t decommission Dragon.”
Not only did the post appear to prompt Musk to ease off his criticism of Trump and the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” but it may have also safeguarded the future of space exploration, for now.
Others also pushed for a reconciliation. Billionaire investor Bill Ackman wrote on X, “I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart.” Musk then responded to Ackman, saying, “You’re not wrong.”
