White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated Tuesday that the administration has “no plans” to issue a proclamation recognizing “Pride Month.”
When asked during a White House press briefing about any upcoming presidential proclamations in connection with what many on the Left observe as Pride Month, Leavitt made clear that no such announcements are expected. She added that President Donald Trump “is proud to be a president for all Americans regardless of race, religion, or creed.”

Leavitt’s remarks came shortly after the Department of Education announced that June would be recognized as “Title IX Month,” marking the 53rd anniversary of the landmark legislation that prohibits sex-based discrimination in education, The Daily Wire reported Monday.
The Trump White House is taking a markedly different approach from the previous administration’s emphasis on LGBT issues. Although President Trump acknowledged “Pride Month” with a tweet in 2019, he never issued an official presidential proclamation recognizing the occasion.
President Joe Biden, by contrast, fully embraced “Pride Month” during his time in office, issuing annual proclamations and welcoming LGBTQ activists and social media influencers to the White House.
At a 2023 “Pride Month” celebration on the White House lawn, transgender activist Rose Montoya—a biological male who identifies as a woman—met with President Biden before appearing in a video topless, using his hands to cover his breast implants. The Biden administration later condemned the incident as “inappropriate and disrespectful,” and Montoya issued an apology.
Throughout Biden’s term, his administration advanced progressive policies on LGBT issues, with a particular focus on matters involving children. In 2022, he signed an executive order aimed at expanding access to gender-related procedures for both adults and minors, while criticizing Republican-led states for enacting restrictions on such treatments for children.
However, in 2024—just months before the election and amid shifting public opinion—the Biden administration reversed course and publicly opposed gender surgeries for minors.
