Voters Reject Supreme Court Meddling, Back Trump’s Mass Deportation Plan

A new poll of Epoch Times readers reveals overwhelming support for President Donald Trump’s hardline immigration agenda—including his use of emergency powers to accelerate deportations of foreign gang members, a tactic the Supreme Court has recently attempted to block.

Out of 35,704 responses, a commanding majority of readers backed expedited deportations, opposed due process protections for illegal immigrants, and endorsed Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act to remove non-citizens linked to transnational crime. The results send a clear message: voters want action, not courtroom delays.

“Respondents overwhelmingly back aggressive immigration enforcement, with large majorities favoring fast-track deportations, expedited removals, and tough penalties for illegal immigrants, especially in cases involving crime or national security,” the outlet reported.

“The poll showed that an overwhelming majority of respondents—88 percent—strongly agreed that illegal immigration poses a threat to public safety, while another five percent somewhat agreed. Just five percent disagreed to some extent. The findings align with the Trump administration’s view that weak border policies compromise national security and make Americans less safe,” the outlet added.

Since returning to power, Trump has wasted no time making good on his promise of mass deportations. On Day One, he declared a national invasion at the southern border and began tearing down Biden-era policies he says opened the floodgates to illegal immigration, the outlet reported.

Likewise, a staggering 85 percent of respondents strongly agreed—and another 8 percent somewhat agreed—that the government must stop dragging its feet and start deporting illegal immigrants faster. Just 6 percent dissented, underscoring the overwhelming demand for aggressive, no-nonsense enforcement that cuts through bureaucratic delays and judicial interference.

In a rapid-fire series of executive orders shortly after taking office, Trump mobilized military forces to the southern border, tightened vetting protocols, reinstated the “Remain in Mexico” policy, and rolled out a sweeping self-deportation campaign to drive illegal immigrants out of the country.

But the boldest—and most hotly contested—move came in March, when Trump invoked the Alien Enemies Act, a centuries-old wartime statute designed to repel hostile foreign incursions. Using the law, his administration targeted Venezuelan gang members for immediate removal without lengthy court battles.

That crackdown hit a roadblock on May 16, when the Supreme Court stepped in, claiming Trump’s enforcement violated due process by giving detainees just 24 hours’ notice and limited opportunity to fight deportation, The Epoch Times noted.

Trump blasted the ruling, accusing the Supreme Court of undermining his duty to safeguard national security and obstructing the swift removal of violent foreign criminals. Vice President J.D. Vance echoed the criticism, warning in a recent interview that the decision highlights a deeper conflict between unelected judges and the will of the American people.
