A string of international successes is boosting President Donald Trump’s standing with voters, according to new polling released this week.
From securing tariff agreements with China and the U.K. to landing major Middle East investments in American jobs and manufacturing, voters say Trump is delivering on his core promise to Make America Great Again. Returning home after a productive week of meetings with Saudi and Qatari leaders, Trump is enjoying his highest approval ratings since the early days of his administration.
In a key indicator, 55% of respondents approved of Trump’s job performance, while 44% expressed disapproval. InsiderAdvantage pollster Matt Towery attributed the shift to a large number of previously undecided voters who now “have moved heavily towards approval of President Trump’s job performance.
He added: “Trump enjoys a positive rating from all age groups other than seniors. His support among other demographics are similar or above the level of support seen in our final battleground poll of battleground states in 2024.”
The survey of 1,000 likely voters offers an early snapshot of the electorate more inclined to participate in the 2026 midterms, as opposed to a presidential election year when less frequent voters tend to make their quadrennial trip to the polls.
The Cook Political Report also obtained early results from a Democratic-aligned survey conducted by the data firm Catalist—its recurring “What Happened” poll released after each presidential cycle. The findings highlight Trump’s growing appeal in unexpected segments of the electorate, with Cook summarizing the shift under a striking subheadline: “The Obama Coalition Turned Into the Trump Coalition.”
Among Black men, Harris underperformed Biden by 7 points, and among Latino men, she trailed him by 12 points. She also lost ground with Hispanic women and failed to increase support among Black women compared to the levels Biden achieved in 2020.
