If you wondered why the Potty Mouth Party appears to be getting more unhinged by the day, the answer could be found in the latest round of polling, which shows President Donald Trump’s approval rating rising significantly in just the past couple of weeks.
Democrats claimed they had Trump on the ropes 100 days into his term with a garbage outlier poll from one of the worst cable news outlets ever – CNN – which claimed he was ‘the most unpopular president in 70 years at this point in his term.’ But a real pollster that has gotten Trump’s numbers consistently right since 2016 just revealed the opposite, and it’s gotta be driving Democrats crazy.
Trump’s approval rating has seen a notable uptick in recent days, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll released Monday, marking a turnaround from earlier in the month. The daily tracking poll now shows 50% of likely voters approve of Trump’s job performance, while 48% disapprove. That’s a significant shift from April 27, when approval stood at 47% and disapproval at 52%.
The seven-point swing in net approval over just two weeks reflects growing public support for Trump’s assertive second-term agenda, which has been marked by a flurry of executive actions, sweeping policy changes, and a clear departure from the Biden administration’s approach. Rather than easing back into office, Trump launched his second term with force. In just over 100 days, he has signed more than 140 executive orders—an unprecedented pace in modern presidential history.
These actions have focused heavily on reshaping immigration policy, cutting federal regulations, and adopting a tougher stance on global trade, and they’re obviously popular with a growing majority of Americans. A key pillar of Trump’s early second-term agenda has been immigration reform. He reinstated the national emergency at the southern border, reversed expanded asylum protections, and reauthorized deportation efforts that had been scaled back under prior administrations. One of the most notable initiatives is a voluntary self-deportation program, which offers undocumented immigrants $1,000 and a free flight home—a cost-saving measure the administration says could cut deportation expenses by up to 70%.
Trump’s focus hasn’t been limited to domestic policy. On April 2—dubbed “Liberation Day”—he imposed a sweeping 10% tariff on all imported goods, with even higher rates aimed at specific countries such as China, Mexico, and Canada. The move initially rattled financial markets, pushing the S&P 500 into correction territory. However, Trump’s base has embraced the policy as a bold defense of American industry and economic sovereignty. Adding to his aggressive trade agenda, Trump announced over the weekend a 100% tariff on foreign films, framing it as a national security measure and a cultural preservation effort aimed at revitalizing the struggling U.S. film industry.
Democrats have become the ‘party of no,’ and while they obviously believe that’s a viable strategy to ‘fight back’ against a president who won popular and electoral majorities, this new polling data would suggest otherwise. But we’re not here to advise the Democrats to change a thing; whatever they can continue doing that keeps them in the minority is a good thing for the future of our country.
