As President Donald Trump and his administration celebrated a host of America First wins on Tuesday, the 100th day into is second and final term, the lamestream media and their Democratic buddies coordinated a series of ‘polls,’ stories, and claims to push a new narrative: A sizeable portion of Trump voters were already exhausted with him and were regretting their vote. But like every other narrative they’ve been pushing since 47 was inaugurated, the ‘Trump regret’ claim has turned out to be another hoax.
Despite the claims of widespread buyer’s remorse among Trump supporters, an Emerson College Polling survey released April 30—coinciding with the first 100 days of his second term—finds his base as loyal as ever. The vast majority of voters say they’d repeat their 2024 choices if given a second chance. The poll reports that 94% of Trump voters and 93% of Harris voters would stick with their original pick, yielding a hypothetical rematch edge for Trump at 48% to 47%.
The poll challenges the idea that Trump’s policies and tone have turned away his 2024 supporters. It seems both sides remain committed, showing no signs of regret since the election, though plenty of Democrats who voted for Harris should have plenty to regret after their party took a beating all around last November. Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, explained, “Despite several unpopular domestic and foreign policies, President Trump still holds an entrenched base of voters who, if given the chance, say they would vote for him again.”
The poll reveals a mixed early assessment of Trump’s second term. While his core supporters remain loyal, overall enthusiasm for his policies is muted—45% approve of his job performance, 45% disapprove, and 10% are neutral. Economic policy and global conflict emerge as top concerns. A plurality of 49% believes his economic approach is making conditions worse, compared to 29% who think it’s improving them. Just 37% approve of his handling of the economy, while 49% disapprove.
But Emerson is just another poll, right? What makes it so different from the plethora of other surveys claiming that Trump’s shedding supporters like Biden was shedding viable brain cells? Well, the RealClearPolitics average of polling — which is the standard everyone should be using because it’s largely accurate — agrees with the Emerson results. Besides, Trump was resoundingly elected: Are we really supposed to believe a mere 100 days later a large portion of his voters ‘regret’ it?
