U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a stern warning on Friday to anyone considering funding left-wing violence following recent attacks on Tesla dealerships associated with Trump advisor Elon Musk. During an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Bondi announced that her office had apprehended an individual who threw a Molotov cocktail through the window of a Tesla dealership in Loveland, Colorado.
According to Forbes, 42-year-old Colorado resident Lucy Grace Nelson was found at the scene with a “container of gasoline plus a box of bottles and wick material,” as reported by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado. It’s just the latest act of vandalism against Tesla dealerships, as liberals target Musk’s cost-cutting measures at the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency. But, Bondi vowed, violence will get them nowhere.
“They’re looking at up to 20 years in prison,” Bondi said about Nelson, now charged with malicious destruction of property for multiple instances. “So if you’re going to touch a Tesla, go to a dealership, do anything, you better watch out ‘cuz we’re coming after you, and if you’re funding this we’re coming after you. We’re going to find out who you are.”
No evidence has emerged linking the recent vandalism of Tesla dealerships to a central organizer. However, the timing of these incidents has raised concerns for Bondi and the Trump administration. In response, President Donald Trump has reiterated his commitment to supporting the entrepreneur’s electric vehicle company during this critical period.
At the White House earlier this week, Trump and Musk stood together before a backdrop of Tesla vehicles where the president encouraged Americans to finance a purchase for “as low as $299/month.” There, Trump wrote Musk an $80,000 check for a vehicle that he said was going to be a gift to his 17-year-old granddaughter.
Since the Trump administration began, many Tesla owners—especially in predominantly blue areas—have expressed regret, with some rushing to sell their vehicles at significant losses. In Brookline, Massachusetts, police arrested a local man accused of covering Teslas with anti-Musk stickers. In Salem, Oregon, a man fired on empty Teslas at a dealership using an AR-style rifle. Meanwhile, three Teslas at a dealership in Dedham, Massachusetts, were defaced with spray-painted anti-Trump slogans, and four more were set on fire at a dealership in Seattle, Washington.
