Fox News wasted no time in naming a replacement for longtime host Neil Cavuto, announcing his successor just one month after the veteran host revealed he would be departing the network after 28 years. Now that Cavuto has hung up his microphone, the show will be hosted by Will Cain, 49. “The Will Cain Show” is set to replace Neil Cavuto’s 4 p.m. hour, marking one of several adjustments to Fox News’ weekend lineup. The network described Cain’s new program as “a comprehensive look at the news of the day presented in a signature podcast style,” according to a statement provided to The Hill.

Cain, currently a co-host of Fox & Friends Weekend, will have his seat filled by pundit Charlie Hurt. Additionally, Fox Report and The Big Weekend Show will both expand to two-hour formats on Saturdays and Sundays following Cavuto’s departure. In a statement of his own, Cain, a former broadcaster at ESPN, said he was honored to be asked to fill Cavuto’s shoes. “It has been an honor to wake up with America these past four years and I am thrilled to apply my background in news, law, entertainment and business to help our viewers better understand the headlines through thought-provoking content and analysis every weekday afternoon,” Cain said.

Cavuto, the longtime host of “Your World,” has become a trusted source for breaking news in conservative circles. According to sources close to the negotiations, Fox offered him a contract renewal, but Cavuto believed his time would be better spent pursuing other opportunities. Employees at the network say he is still a beloved figure within the studios, and there is no animosity between him and the network executives. “Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism, and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media,” Fox said in a statement announcing his departure. “His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
