Newly released photographs obtained by America First Legal (AFL) have intensified scrutiny of President Joe Biden’s alleged connections to Hunter Biden’s Chinese business dealings. The images, secured through AFL’s lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), purportedly show then-Vice President Biden interacting with Hunter’s Chinese business associates, including individuals with ties to the Chinese government.
Among the photos shared by AFL on social media today is an image of Joe Biden introducing Hunter and his associate to Chinese President Xi Jinping during an official 2013 trip to Beijing. Initially presented as a diplomatic mission, the trip is now under renewed examination, with questions emerging about whether Biden may have leveraged his political position to advance Hunter’s business interests.

” Lawyers and representatives for President Biden and President Obama delayed NARA’s release of these photos — as they did with other critical records — until after Election Day,” AFL said in another X post, citing the problems the legal group had with obtaining the records, despite the clear language of the Freedom of Information Act. “In 2013, then-Vice President Biden went on an official trip across Asia, including a stop in Beijing, China. In these newly-released photographs, Joe Biden appears to introduce his son, Hunter, to President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China.”
The images reportedly depict Joe Biden meeting with executives from BHR Partners, a private equity firm co-founded by Hunter Biden. According to America First Legal (AFL), the photographs support findings from the House Oversight Committee, which earlier this year disclosed that Hunter Biden arranged introductions between his father and BHR executives, including CEO Jonathan Li and Managing Partner Ming Xue.

In February, the House Oversight Committee revealed that Hunter Biden accompanied his father on Air Force Two to Beijing, where BHR Partners CEO Jonathan Li sought political access. The committee alleged that “Mr. Li sought—and received—access to Vice President Biden’s political power,” citing preferential access to then-U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus as an example. America First Legal (AFL) also referenced emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop and testimony from his former business partner, Devon Archer, suggesting that Joe Biden wrote letters of recommendation for Li’s children.
AFL claims that the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) initially planned to release the photographs on October 23, shortly before the 2024 presidential election. However, legal representatives for Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama allegedly delayed the release, ensuring the materials became public only after Election Day. AFL stated that 182 of the 313 photographs processed by NARA remain withheld, prompting the organization to commit to continued legal action. The Biden family’s ties to BHR have drawn heightened scrutiny. In one case highlighted by the Oversight Committee, Hunter Biden reportedly received a $250,000 “loan” from Jonathan Li, which Hunter did not repay. Instead, the debt was allegedly covered by Democratic donor Kevin Morris.

The Biden administration has consistently maintained that President Joe Biden was not involved in his son’s business dealings. However, subpoenaed bank records obtained by the House Oversight Committee reveal that in 2019, Hunter Biden received wire transfers from Chinese nationals listing Joe Biden’s Delaware address as the beneficiary address. Hunter’s legal team has dismissed this as an administrative detail, explaining that he used his parents’ home as his permanent address at the time.
Ongoing investigations have also uncovered financial ties between the Biden family and a Chinese energy company, with reports indicating millions of dollars were funneled into accounts linked to Hunter Biden and his associates. A House Oversight report earlier this year detailed a series of transactions totaling $10 million, tracing the funds through a complex network of entities connected to foreign businesses, including those in China.
And the final insult to all of this: On December 1, Joe Biden issued a sweeping pardon for his son Hunter, covering federal offenses from 2014 to 2024, citing political motivations behind his prosecution. But the president did not pardon himself, which means he’s still subject to prosecution — unless he self-pardons on his way out the White House door.
