Jill Biden, reportedly frustrated by the Democratic Party sidelining her husband, is urging President Joe Biden to “burn it all down” before leaving office next month, according to sources cited by the Daily Mail. The sources claim she has been feeling particularly “vengeful” recently. Instead of focusing on this year’s “tacky” Christmas decorations or farewell parties for longtime staff members, Jill has allegedly compiled a “naughty list” that includes the Obamas and Vice President Kamala Harris, with whom she has reportedly had a longstanding dislike.
Her behavior comes in the wake of open criticism from top Democratic officials, who expressed disappointment in President Biden for pardoning his son, Hunter, despite repeatedly promising over the past year that he would not. “Jill views Democrats on Capitol Hill, the [wider] party, the Obamas, staff inside and outside the White House, the media, and all of Washington DC with such misguided resentment that I can’t imagine she [isn’t] encouraging [Joe] to burn the whole thing down, despite his better judgment,” an insider told the outlet.
One of Jill Biden’s primary targets in these final weeks is Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the influential former House Speaker who orchestrated an insurgent effort to push President Biden out of the race and elevate Vice President Kamala Harris during the Democratic National Convention. Insiders reveal that Pelosi pressured Biden to drop out just hours before his announcement on July 21st. Despite a friendship spanning five decades, Biden has reportedly given Pelosi the cold shoulder ever since, with many observers believing that mending their relationship is now virtually impossible.
Former President Barack Obama has also been the target of Jill Biden’s frustration after it was revealed that he urged actor George Clooney to write a high-profile op-ed in The New York Times calling on President Biden to step aside for the good of the Democratic Party. Clooney, through anonymous allies, has reportedly criticized Obama for involving him in the situation, with friends noting that Clooney has faced sharp backlash in the wake of the election, said the outlet.
Since the election, relations between Vice President Harris, Jill Biden, and President Biden have remained tense. The two women barely acknowledged each other while seated side-by-side at a Veterans Day ceremony, and earlier this month, the Bidens largely avoided interacting with Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff at the annual Kennedy Center Honors. Observers also noted that Pelosi was seated far from the president during the event, the outlet added.
“[Biden] basically had the palace coup from all directions, from George Clooney to Pelosi. I think he got pissed off [and] said, ‘F*** you,’ and gave us Harris,” said Florida mega-donor John Morgan, who has known Biden for years. “Pelosi had told her delegation that there would be a convention and a nominating process. And Barack Obama did not endorse [Harris] for five days.” As the shoulders get colder, Harris’s allies are striking back, blaming Biden for not dropping out sooner. “It’s almost Shakespearean that Biden didn’t just kill his own campaign, he killed hers, too,” a Harris aide lamented.
