‘The View’ Hosts Go Off The Rails With Insane Theory About Trump And Elon

The hosts of The View floated a bizarre theory about President-elect Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Vice President-elect JD Vance, offering a scenario that sounded more like a political thriller than a daytime talk show segment. During Thursday’s episode on ABC, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar speculated about an outlandish plot where Musk and Vance were allegedly scheming to “get rid of Trump” and take over the government. The hypothetical alliance was humorously dubbed “Musk/Vance.”

“Who is in charge? Because I’ve been saying it for a while. I’ve been saying it,” Goldberg rambled as she launched into her monologue. “I think Elon Musk believes he’s president. I do. I’ve called him vice president. I called him president because I don’t know what JD is doing. I hardly ever say, I don’t remember the last time we even talked about JD.” Not to be outdone, Behar jumped in with her own insane hot take: “He’s planning the presidency when he’s gonna get rid of Trump.” Goldberg responded, “So you think it’s Musk, Musk/Vance?” That led Behar to deadpan: “Possibly.”

The nonsense went on from there. In what could only be described as a surreal moment of daytime TV, Goldberg sent a crazy warning: “Stay away from the stairways. Because, you know, people put their leg out to trip you going down the stairs. Watch out.”

Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Vance, Trump’s Vice President-elect, have become frequent targets of the show’s liberal panel. However, the idea of a Musk-Vance conspiracy against Trump seems highly far-fetched. Goldberg and Behar, both known for their controversial remarks, have a history of making bold accusations against conservatives. After a commercial break, Goldberg appeared to walk back her earlier comments, attempting to downplay any insinuation of violence.

“Okay, I need to clean something up,” Whoopi said as the show returned. “Because my cat lays in wait for me on my stairs all the time. And that’s what I was, I was thinking of that. I wasn’t trying to indicate that they were actually standing there with their legs out, hoping he would trip.” Behar nodded, and co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, “No one wants anything done to the President.” Goldberg added emphatically, “No, nobody wants anything done to the person. It was lighthearted, and it’s the holidays—come on!”
