Former President Donald Trump was greeted with enthusiasm by Pittsburgh Steelers fans during his visit to Acrisure Stadium for the team’s primetime game against the New York Jets on Sunday night. Trump had announced his attendance to cap off a busy weekend in Pennsylvania. At a rally in the Pittsburgh area on Saturday, he was joined by Steelers legends Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, both of whom endorsed him and committed to helping with get-out-the-vote efforts.

Bell and Brown also hosted a tailgate event in partnership with Turning Point USA ahead of the matchup. The two NFL stars worked to register voters and garner support for Trump in what is expected to be a crucial swing state in the upcoming election. Before his arrival, the former president shared a humorous, AI-generated image showing his support for the Steelers. The post, featuring Trump in a #47 Steelers jersey, quickly attracted nearly half a million likes on Instagram.

The Republican nominee arrived at the game midway through the first quarter and was featured on the nationally televised NBC broadcast. Sunday Night Football commentator Mike Tirico mentioned that former President Trump was invited to the stadium as an official guest of a suite holder. As Trump settled into his seat, he was met with cheers and chants of “USA” from a whole section of Steelers fans.

The former president has participated in various sporting events during both the Republican primary and presidential election cycles. He has attended several UFC events, often entering to enthusiastic cheers from the crowd alongside UFC President Dana White and other celebrities. Notably, he has also received warm receptions in traditionally deep blue states like New York and New Jersey.
