The Trump campaign launched an inspiring new ad in anticipation of the former president’s return to Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. After pledging to revisit the site of the July 13 attack that resulted in the death of retired firefighter Corey Comperatore and injured two other Trump supporters, the former president fulfilled his promise on Saturday. Trump was accompanied by several lawmakers, first responders from the incident, Elon Musk, and others at the historic rally, which attracted over 50,000 attendees to the small Pennsylvania community.
Just before Trump took the stage at 6 p.m. Eastern Time, the campaign unveiled an inspiring election ad that showcased the resilience of the MAGA movement. “There are some moments in history that are forever seared into our hearts. Moments when time stops, when joy is shattered by pure terror over good and our pride turns to mourning all in an instant,” a narrator begins over images of the July 13 assassination attempt. “The bravest among us suddenly fallen, patriots and presidents besieged, a nation stunned to its core and in the silence of our grief, in the stillness of our prayers, we ask, why? And we may never know.”
The ad then alternates between images of the American Revolution and the former president’s iconic reaction to being shot. He turned to the crowd, raised his fist in defiance, and urged supporters to “fight, fight, fight!” The narrator continues: “But in our nation’s darkest moments, when all seems lost, when the cause seems to be unwinnable, when the night seems to never end, and hope is on its knees, we rise.” He added: “When will they learn this man cannot be stopped. This movement cannot be defeated. And even when they mock us, even when they slander us, even when they count us out of the fight, we will not stop.”
