Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk dropped a bone-chilling warning in a post on his X platform Sunday, claiming that if former President Donald Trump loses to Vice President Kamala Harris, there won’t be any elections in the future. “Very few Americans realize that, if Trump is NOT elected, this will be the last election. Far from being a threat to democracy, he is the only way to save it!” Musk began, responding to another user who reported that the Biden-Harris administration is rushing to grant citizenship to migrants at a heretofore unseen pace.
“Let me explain: if even 1 in 20 illegals become citizens per year, something that the Democrats are expediting as fast as humanly possible, that would be about 2 million new legal voters in 4 years. The voting margin in the swing states is often less than 20 thousand votes. That means if the ‘Democratic’ Party succeeds, there will be no more swing states!!” Musk wrote. “Moreover, the Biden/Harris administration has been flying ‘asylum seekers,’ who are fast-tracked to citizenship, directly into swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin and Arizona. It is a surefire way to win every election.”
He concluded: “America then becomes a one-party state and Democracy is over. The only ‘elections’ will be the Democratic Party primaries. This already happened in California many years ago, following the 1986 amnesty. The only thing holding California back from extreme socialism and suffocating government policies is that people can leave California and still remain in America. Once the whole country is controlled by one party, there will be no escape. Everywhere in America will be like the nightmare that is downtown San Francisco.”

Musk seemed to be alluding to the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, which was unexpectedly signed into law by Republican President Ronald Reagan. This legislation provided amnesty to undocumented immigrants who had arrived in the United States before January 1, 1984. It also made it illegal for U.S. companies to knowingly hire illegal immigrants, imposed penalties on those companies, and created the General Accounting Office (GAO) to investigate employer discrimination against authorized immigrant workers, among other provisions.
While also managing Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, and the social media platform X, multibillionaire Musk will serve as the nation’s “cost cutter” if Trump is re-elected to the presidency, the former president stated at a rally in Michigan on Friday.
“I’m going to get Elon, and he’s great at this; he’s going to be our cost-cutter. I think he can save trillions,” Trump told a crowd gathered in Kent County, Michigan. “I don’t think I can get him full-time because he’s a little bit busy sending rockets up, and all the things he does,” Trump said. “But he’s so much into that. He said the waste in this country is crazy.”
Musk posted on X two years ago: “In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold.” However, it remained unclear how closely Musk would align with Trump until he officially endorsed the former president after the first assassination attempt. Since then, he has consistently praised Trump on his X platform. On Friday, the Republican nominee remarked that Musk would work for free in his administration if he defeats Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
“We’re going to get Elon Musk to be our cost-cutter. He’s going to do it for zero. He doesn’t want anything,” Trump told the crowd. “It’s going to be incredible, what he’ll be able to do, without hurting anybody — just waste. It’s waste, fraud and abuse … you get rid of that; everybody lives much better, we have a country that’s really strong again.”
