Harris Facing New Wave Of Criticism Over Actions Following Helene

As the death toll from Hurricane Helene continues to climb, Vice President Kamala Harris is facing mounting criticism for her actions—or lack of action—following the storm’s landfall. Helene, which struck Florida as a Category 4 hurricane, has caused widespread destruction, leaving over 2 million people without power and dozens of families unaccounted for across six states. The devastation is so extensive that rescue crews are only now starting to understand the full scale of the damage.

Amid the chaos, former President Donald Trump made headlines by traveling to Valdosta, Georgia, to personally assess the damage and offer assistance. In contrast, Harris has been noticeably absent in the wake of Helene, a point that conservative commentators were quick to emphasize.

While Donald Trump personally flew to Georgia today to deliver supplies and get an update on the disaster unfolding after Hurricane Helene, Vice-President Kamala Harris made a staged photo-op phone call.

Stephen Miller, a former advisor to Trump, expressed his frustration over Harris’s priorities. “Where the hell is Kamala? Who is running the country? People are fighting for their lives right now and Kamala is drinking ritzy champagne with the limousine liberals in San Francisco,” Miller tweeted.

Others have echoed similar feelings. “I don’t think many people realize how badly Asheville was hit by Hurricane Helene. Where is Kamala?” wrote commentator Ian Miles Cheong, pointing out the VP’s absence from the affected regions. The lack of federal leadership in the immediate response to Helene has left many others wondering why Harris has not made a similar visit to the disaster zone.

“Really weird that the press aren’t tearing Kamala Harris apart for posing on Air Force Two during a major disaster. I seem to recall that being a huge deal when George W. Bush did it,” RedState.com’s Bonchie wrote on the X platform, alluding to the infamous image of Bush on Air Force One during Hurricane Katrina. “Just an oversight by our stalwart journalistic establishment, I’m sure.”

When asked if he had any words for the victims, Biden responded with vague remarks, stating, “Yes, it’s tragic. Matter of fact, we’re trying to get the exact number. My FEMA advisor is on the ground in Florida right now.”  When pressed about whether more resources could be provided, Biden dismissively stated, “No, we’ve given them, we have pre-planned a significant amount of it.”

Trump also got in on the criticism. “Biden is in Delaware right now in one of his many estates… Lyin’ Kamala Harris [is] in San Francisco, a city that she has totally destroyed,” he said on Friday during a campaign stop. “That’s where she is right now… at fundraising events with her radical left lunatic donors, when big parts of our country have been devastated by that massive hurricane and are underwater, with many, many people dead.”
