An Airbnb host in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania took unprecedented steps to evict pro-Trump ballot chasers, as reported by Breitbart News. The incident took place on Monday when an Airbnb host asked ballot chasers working with Citizens Alliance’s PA CHASE program, a pro-Trump operation that has visited over 500,000 doors across the crucial swing state, to leave their Philadelphia Airbnb with just an hour’s notice.
According to the report, the ballot chasers were asked by the host about the “Philadelphia Chase” shirts they were wearing. “We chase ballots for Republicans in PA,” the group said, per the report, at which point the host immediately reported them to AirBnB and canceled the $5,000 reservation. “This is how you know the PA CHASE is over the target — being discriminated against in Philadelphia is nothing new for conservatives,” PA Chase founder Cliff Maloney told Breitbart News. “Democrats are furious that we are finally fighting fire with fire and beating them at their own game.”
“Let me be clear: we will not back down… we will not stop… and we will not let off the gas until we crush the commies and claim victory on November 5,” he added. According to the report, AirBnb is “investigating” the incident, though the pro-Trump group has thus far been unable to recover their requested $5,000 refund. PA Chase told Breitbart News that they are currently consulting with an attorney in order to figure out their next steps.
In 2023, the grassroots organization Citizens Alliance launched an initiative called “Pennsylvania Chase” to boost Republican mail-in voting in the state for the 2024 election. The program was designed to counteract the Democratic Party’s significant advantages in mail-in ballot requests since 2020. “Our PA CHASE team in Philly has been targeting Bucks County which scares the living daylights out of the Democrats,” said PA Chase Chief Strategist Justin Greiss, who was in Philadelphia during the incident. “This blatant political discrimination will not hinder our team, especially when the enemy is advocating for cutting off the private parts of America’s children. Trump must win to save the Republic.”
The Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania is facing a significant deficit in mail-in ballot requests compared to President Biden’s 2020 campaign. According to the latest reports, the campaign is trailing Biden’s 2020 numbers by approximately 360,000 ballot requests. This comes as Vice President Harris works to recover from concerning voter turnout trends in the state. In 2020, Biden carried Pennsylvania by around 80,000 votes, buoyed by a mail-in ballot request advantage of roughly one million over Republicans.
During a network segment on Thursday, CNN data guru Harry Enten warned that young voters who are largely backing Harris may not actually turn up to the polls. According to a CNN/SSRS poll released on Wednesday, Harris is currently leading the Republican presidential nominee by 17 points among likely voters aged 18 to 29. Additionally, Harris holds a 12-point lead among voters aged 18 to 34. However, analyst Enten cautioned that less than half of the young demographic is “extremely motivated” to vote, suggesting that a significant percentage may not turn up to the polls on Election Day.
“We’ve got Kamala Harris up by 12 points, now if we thin ourselves down a little bit, let’s go under the age of 30, what do we have? We have an even larger lead for Kamala Harris, she’s up by 17 points … But, of course, are these voters actually going to turn out and vote? Extremely motivated to vote in the 2024 election, look at this, overall voters [is at] 64%,” Enten said.
“For voters under the age of 40, it’s just 49%. I think the key question isn’t just who they’re going to vote for, it’s whether they’ll turn out and vote. Oftentimes, younger voters are less likely to turn out and vote, and I think this year is going to be quite similar to that,” he said. Enten further pointed out that Harris leads the former president among young voters by an average of 18 points in national polls, a 10-point decrease from Biden’s 28-point lead among this demographic in September 2020.
