Former Hawaii Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard sharply criticized the Biden administration’s foreign policy on Fox News Thursday, describing Vice President Kamala Harris as “wholly unfit to be Commander in Chief.” In an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle,” Gabbard labeled the escalating conflict between Ukraine and Russia as one of the “most dangerous moments of our lives.”
She criticized the Biden administration’s handling of foreign policy, asserting that Harris lacks a full understanding of the potential consequences of a “nuclear Armageddon” and is therefore unfit for the role of commander in chief. “It’s the most dangerous moment of our lives, Laura. We cannot understate the seriousness of the position that we are in directly because of Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s foreign policy and their action, their decisions,” she told Laura Ingraham. “Kamala Harris is wholly unfit to be our commander in chief.”
“She clearly doesn’t know that we have service members in combat zones at war today putting their lives on the line. She clearly does not understand or care about the serious consequences of what nuclear Armageddon would mean for all of us, all of the American people and humanity in the world,” Gabbard, who has embraced former President Donald Trump’s campaign, added.
Gabbard also accused Harris of fearmongering, suggesting that her rhetoric about Russia’s ambitions in Ukraine aligns with the interests of the military-industrial complex. “She is continuing to lie to the American people saying, oh, first, you know, Russia, first it’s Ukraine, and then it’s the Baltic countries, and then it’s Poland, and then it’s all of these other countries and they want to take over the entire former Soviet Union all over,” Gabbard continued. “There’s no proof of this. There’s no evidence of this.”
“This is her spouting the talking points coming from the military-industrial complex who wants to continue to see, Liz Cheney and Dick Cheney, who want to continue to see billions of our taxpayer dollars taken out of the pockets of the American people and fed into these massive defense corporations and those who are profiting from war,” she added.

Harris met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Thursday, as reported by The New York Times. This meeting came after President Biden’s announcement of an $8 billion military aid package for Ukraine. On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed a change in nuclear policy, reducing the conditions under which Russia might use nuclear weapons against Western nations.
Earlier this month, Gabbard shredded Harris on CNN for missing the anniversary ceremony commemorating the 13 service members killed in the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. Trump and his team visited Arlington Cemetery on Monday to honor the 13 Gold Star families but faced media backlash over the coverage of the ceremony. On “State of the Union,” Gabbard claimed that Trump’s team had “exchanges” with Arlington officials to get approval for bringing a camera to document the event.
“I checked with the campaign on this question and they have exchanges with the officials at Arlington Cemetery. They were approved to bring a camera there to document this historic and momentous day that should not be forgotten by any American,” Gabbard told anchor Dana Bash. The former Democratic representative also noted that some family members who attended the ceremony had “invited” Trump, while highlighting Harris “has not made any effort” to console the families. Other reports said the families also invited Harris and President Joe Biden, but neither bothered to attend.
“I know President Trump wanted to share that with others, especially given the fact that President Biden [and] Harris, I heard, were invited by some of these family members. They not only didn‘t come, they didn‘t even respond to that invitation,” Gabbard continued. “Now to have Kamala Harris put this statement out yesterday saying that she stands with these families, she stands with the military and with veterans — you only have to look at the response that came from the Gold-Star families of these 13 service members of how offended they were by that statement.”
“Given she has not made any effort — not on that third anniversary or any other time — to call them directly to offer her condolences and even apologies for their decisions that led to the loss of their loved ones,” Gabbard added. Bash, for some reason, focused on whether Trump’s campaign might have breached the cemetery’s rules on covering memorial services rather than just praise him for going in the first place. Gabbard, a vet and current U.S. Army Reserve officer, was having none of it, however, and instead highlighted the absence of “universal coverage” of the anniversary.
