Vice President Kamala Harris is now vowing to secure the border, yet as a California senator, she strongly opposed deporting illegal immigrants. In a video exclusively obtained by the Daily Mail, Harris is seen participating in a 2018 Los Angeles parade, where she joined protesters chanting, “Down, down with deportation!” At the time, Harris was serving as the grand marshal of the 33rd annual parade, an event traditionally held to honor the legacy of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
However, leftist political forces used the event to highlight their own causes, such as the ‘Times Up!’ movement, which advocates against sexual harassment and workplace discrimination. During the parade, the issue of immigration enforcement also emerged, leading Harris to participate in chants supporting illegal immigration without consequences.
Harris enthusiastically chanted, “Up up with education, down, down with deportation!” alongside a group of activists, clapping her hands, pointing, and smiling. She was accompanied by her family, including her husband Doug Emhoff and his daughter Ella Emhoff, who captured the moment on her iPhone. Other notable figures in the parade included Jussie Smollett, the former television star known for his role in the show Empire, which portrays a fictional struggle for control of a hip-hop production company.

Smollett, wearing sunglasses and a “Times Up” t-shirt, held a young girl as he joined Harris and the crowd of protesters. He would later be arrested and convicted of filing a false police report claiming that “Trump supporters” attacked him in Chicago. Harris famously characterized the attack as an “attempted modern-day lynching” in a social media post, which she has yet to remove despite Smollett’s claim being thoroughly debunked.
.@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery.
This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.

Harris pursued her goal of reducing deportations once she reached the White House. Data from ICE reveals that removals of criminal aliens dropped by 67 percent under the Biden administration compared to the Trump administration, DailyMail.com reported. During Trump’s first three years, ICE removed 485,930 illegal aliens with criminal convictions or pending charges. In contrast, the Biden-Harris administration removed just 158,931 such individuals. The vice president has also expressed concerns about Trump’s promises to reinstate aggressive deportation policies, warning of potential “mass deportation” camps.
In an interview with journalist Sharyl Attkisson, Trump stated that his priority would be to deport criminal illegal immigrants first. “We are getting the criminals out, and we are going to do that fast. We know who they are,” Trump said. He emphasized the risks associated with unchecked illegal immigration into the United States. “We are not a dumping ground. We are going to get all those people out, and we are going to get them out fast, and we have no choice because that is not sustainable by any country.”
