Former First Lady Melania Trump has spoken about the profound heartbreak she experienced witnessing the near assassination of her husband earlier this summer. In a cryptic video, Melania hinted that supporters are entitled to know “more to this story” than what has been publicly disclosed. Comprehensive investigations by Congress, the FBI, and other agencies are ongoing to uncover the motive behind the gunman’s actions and to determine how the Secret Service failed to prevent the shooting on July 13th.
“The attempt to end my husband’s life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now, the silence around it feels heavy,” she told X followers in a direct-to-camera video released on Tuesday. Continuing, she asked, “I can’t help but wonder, why didn’t law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to the story, and we need to uncover the truth.”
The video concludes with a promotion for Melania Trump’s upcoming memoir, “Melania,” which is already breaking records ahead of its October 1st release. The memoir features the story of her first meeting with former President Donald Trump, but readers seem most intrigued by the personal details of her life as a native of Slovenia. “Melania” is currently ranked No. 1 in Amazon’s “Political Leader Biographies” category and No. 2 overall in the broader “Biographies” category. Among all books, it holds an impressive No. 5 spot, despite not yet being released.

Congressional investigators, led by House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY), have interrogated acting Secret Service Acting Director Robert Rowe about the agency’s repeated refusals to enhance security details for the Trump campaign despite requests following death threats. Rowe, who has been implicated in disapproving the requests, attributed the failure to neutralize the gunman, Thomas Crooks, to technology and protocol issues within Trump’s 60-member security team. Investigations later revealed that Crooks was able to scout the rally site in Butler, Pa., hours before it started and even flew a drone for a better view. Rowe stated that the Secret Service was unable to deploy its own drone that day.
Americans are expressing significant doubts about the official account of the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. A recent TIPP/Daily Mail poll reveals that only a third of respondents believe the gunman acted alone without any broader conspiracy. Meanwhile, 45% suspect a “larger conspiracy,” and 22% remain uncertain. Additionally, over a quarter of those surveyed think there may have been a second shooter involved, though the FBI has refuted the second shooter theory.
