CNN’s Scott Jennings Schools Pro-Harris Guest Over ‘Extreme’ Trump Agenda

Conservative CNN commentator Scott Jennings took a liberal contributor to the network to task over her claim that former President Donald Trump is losing to Vice President Kamala Harris because of his supposedly “extreme” agenda. During a segment on Monday, Jennings noted that if guest Maria Cardona’s claims were true, then Trump should not be ahead in any polls, before turning her into a babbling mess of projection.

“One of the key takeaways for me in the CNN poll was that the vast majority of Americans already believe that Donald Trump’s policies are way too extreme and that it’s the vice president’s policies that are much more mainstream, and are in line with that the majority of the American people value and believe,” Cardona began. “That is what she needs to continue to focus on and how her policies will match that.”

But Jennings jumped in: “If that were true, if people believe [Trump] is an extremist, then why isn’t she winning…?! Why is he winning in the New York Times poll? Why is this race tied nationally? I mean, you and I both know, if it’s a tied race nationally, there’s a 100 percent chance he’s gonna win the electoral college! If what you said was true, why isn’t she winning by 20 points?”

That led to several responses from X users:

If an “extremist” is winning the popular vote in America, then he’s not an extremist.https://t.co/imEAGCn6wS

Projection is the only thing they have. After her extremist left values were displayed, NOW he’s an extremist.

Do they realize that a man who has the support of about half of the country cannot be considered an extremist?

When they use this language, they are effectively calling a near majority of the voting American public extremists. The reality is that they are the real extremists.

So the woman that did not even get one vote in the Democratic primary running on her values and
her belief system now all of a sudden is going to win not only the popular vote but the electoral college? This lady needs to be drug tested.

According to the Times/Sienna College poll published on Sunday, more voters actually view Harris as more extreme — “too liberal or progressive” on key policy issues compared to those who consider former President Donald Trump “too conservative.” The poll shows Trump with a narrow lead over Harris, 48% to 47%, indicating that the boost Harris received from the Democratic National Convention after replacing President Biden on the ticket may be diminishing as the election nears its final stages, Fox News reported.

The poll data revealed that nearly half of voters, 44%, consider Harris to be “too liberal and progressive,” while 42% believe she is “not too far either way.” In contrast, the majority of voters view former President Donald Trump as “not too far” to either side on key issues, with only about one-third of voters describing him as “too conservative,” according to Fox.

The New York Times reported that Trump’s lead over Harris as a more centrist candidate is one of his “overlooked advantages.” The Times noted: “Yes, he’s outside of the political mainstream in many respects — he denied the result of the 2020 election. And yes, he does have conservative views on many issues, like immigration. But he’s also taken many positions that would have been likelier to be held by a Democrat than a Republican a decade ago, like opposition to cutting entitlements, support for a cooperative relationship with Russia or opposition to free trade. It’s a reputation he’s careful to protect, from saying he doesn’t support Project 2025 to his cagey position on additional measures to restrict abortion.”

Is Pam Bondi doing a good job?*
