Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski quickly adjusted to his role this week after the onetime 2016 campaign manager was added to the 2024 campaign of the former president. In an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, Lewandowski said that Donald Trump’s race against Vice President Kamala Harris is his to lose as he pushed back against claims the former president is “off his game.”
“So, you know, obviously, the opening question is why are you coming back into the campaign at this point? And why is the former president bringing other people back from the prior campaigns as well at this point?” MacCallum asked to begin the Friday evening segment. (see video below)
“You know, Martha, we’re 80 days from this election. And really, the truth is people don’t start voting much earlier than that. We’re really only about 45 days before these ballots start going out. And so, it’s all hands on deck. Everybody who wants to be part of the team, there is a spot for. A team is better as you add more resources to it, not less. And so, the president has made the decision to continue to bring members into his team that want to make sure he’s going to be successful,” Lewandowski responded.
? JUST IN: The Trump campaign has brought back Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s 2016 campaign manager
This is HUGE news!
Corey was a key reason Trump trounced Hillary in 2016, and doesn’t put up with RINO BS.
His primary strategy? “LET TRUMP BE TRUMP.”

“So, as we build out this team and continue to grow, it is an addition campaign, not a subtraction campaign. I’ve had the chance to work with [campaign managers] Chris [LaCivita] and Susie [Wiles] for a long time, and Tony Fabrizio and other members of the senior leadership team. And I’m very honored and humbled that the president asked me to come back here in a formal capacity to help bring this campaign to a winning, successful election day in early November,” he added.
The host then turned to the issue of who would be the captain of Trump’s campaign ship moving forward. “So, in 2016, in that campaign, you got moved out of your spot in the summer and were replaced by Paul Manafort and then Kellyanne Conway. In 2020, there was also a changing of the guard in the campaign. So, are you telling me that is not going to happen? Are we not going to see LaCivita and Wiles, who you just mentioned, who are running this campaign there to stay? There’s going to be no change at the top?” she asked.
“I believe that’s to be — I believe that to be true, Martha. I absolutely do. Look, Chris and Susie are consummate professionals. They have steered a very impressive ship through here. Look at the success that they had in the primaries. Donald Trump accomplished more than any candidate ever. And here’s where we are,” Lewandowski said. “The Democrats are so concerned about Donald Trump that they had to switch out their candidate at this late stage right before the convention, they had to coronate, you know, the vice president states who didn’t have to go through the primary process and listen to the voters because they’re so afraid of Donald Trump.
He then made a bold prediction: “This is Donald Trump’s race to win. The American people know what his record is, and we’re going to continue to define the failure of the Biden-Harris administration and remind them what four more years would look like under these draconian policies.” At that, the host asked: “have, you know, said that he’s been rambling in some of his recent speeches. He’s getting criticized for that. Is he off his game right now?”
“Well, he’s not off his game. But look at the difference in these two campaigns, Martha. Donald Trump sat and did a press conference for an hour yesterday. Answering questions. Kamala Harris continues to refuse to sit down and answer tough questions from reporters. Her goal, she said on the 8th of this month, was to sit down and have an interview by the end of the month. How is that an acceptable notion to the American people?” he said.
Lewandowski added: “And when we hear things from the Harris campaign, it is that she has consistently changed her positions from where she was running — when she was running four years ago for president. And more than that, she’s now trying to walk away from her position as the vice president under the Joe Biden failures.”
