Former President Donald Trump offered up commentary on who he believes is actually running President Joe Biden’s administration during an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham. Trump claimed on Tuesday that decisions in the White House are being made by a group of “fascists, communists,” and “Marxists.”
“I’m the opposite of a threat to democracy — they’re a threat to democracy,” Trump said of Democrats on “The Ingraham Angle.” “I mean, look at what they just did.” Trump told Ingraham that Democrats engaged in a “coup” by replacing Biden with Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the 2024 ticket, months after millions of primary voters had cast their ballots. “They took the presidency away. His wife didn’t want it to happen. They took the presidency away like he was a child,” he told Ingraham.
Ingraham asked Trump who’s running the country while Harris hits the campaign trail and President Biden faces concerns about his mental acuity. “A group of people that are fascists, communists, Marxists,” Trump said in part, adding that they “circle” the Oval Office and Department of Justice. “You’re saying Biden isn’t making any of the big decisions?” Ingraham asked. Trump responded: “I don’t think so, no. I don’t think he knows he’s alive.”
Trump showed some frustration with Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, during a Fox & Friends interview on Thursday, a few days after President Joe Biden agreed to drop his reelection bid before throwing his support behind her candidacy.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade played a clip of Harris during which she disparaged Trump as she hailed her previous prosecutorial experience in the state of California, referring to him as a “predator.” Kilmeade said before playing the clip: “Kamala Harris has given two speeches now that she is the candidate. They are almost identical speeches. This is what she is doing. She is going after you this way, watch.”
Harris said:
Before I was elected vice president, before I was elected United States senator, I was elected attorney general of the state of California and I was a courtroom prosecutor before then. I took on perpetrators of all kinds. Predators who abused women; fraudsters who ripped off consumers; cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say I know Donald Trump’s type. And in this campaign, I promise you I will proudly put my record against his any day of the week.
Trump responded, “Well, I think it’s disgusting. I get a kick out of one thing they say, ‘Sir, be nice. You just got hit with a bullet. Maybe he has changed. Be nice.’ And I would love to be nice but I’m dealing against real garbage, when you hear that. They have weaponized the justice system against me. They have indicted me four times. They have pushed other lawsuits onto me.
“It’s never happened in this country. This is like a third-world country what they have done. A banana republic. Every single court case that I have is pushed on by them. They have taken the Justice Department, used local DAs, and used local attorney generals. Every single case I have, and I just won the big one in Florida that Biden didn’t win. What happened to Biden is they called him incompetent. He can run for president. But he’s incompetent to represent himself in court,” Trump continued.
“Just so you know, they push all these cases on me. They’re the ones that started. And then they say, ‘I’m a prosecutor. He is a criminal.’ They are the ones. Every case is started by them — and I’m winning the cases. The big one in Florida was thrown out by a brilliant judge to be honest with you. It’s disgraceful that they can do this. It’s called weaponization and it does happen in other countries. It’s never happened in this country before,” he added.
