Former Fox News star Tucker Carlson has just reached another amazing career milestone, proving once again that he is one of the most influential journalists in the country. Carlson’s podcast, “The Tucker Carlson Show,” dominated the Spotify charts on Thursday, surpassing Joe Rogan to secure the number one position for podcasts in the country.
Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec, who appeared in one of the episodes this week, took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the achievement. “Congrats to Tucker and the entire incredible TCN team. I wonder if he had any good guests on this week!” Posobiec joked.
Carlson also received a standing ovation when he took the stage on the final night of the 2024 Republican National Convention on the last night of the event a week ago. He kicked things off by paying tribute to former Trump advisor Peter Navarro, who took the podium on Wednesday following his release from a four-month federal prison sentence for his refusal to comply with the January 6 Committee. Then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in defiance of congressional rules, refused to allow House Republicans to appoint their own representatives.
He then offered a grave yet optimistic perspective on the shooting plot against former President Trump, resulting in the death of retired firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was a father of two, after he was struck while protecting his family from bullets. Two other unsuspecting attendees at the rally suffered severe injuries in the incident.
“So I watched a video of what happened in Butler, Pennsylvania about 1550 times. I think I was one of about 8 billion people around the world who watched it. And the more I watched it the more it became clear that everything was different. After that moment everything, this convention is different,” Carlson said. “The nation is different, the world is different, Donald Trump is different.”
“When he stood up after being shot in the face, bloodied, and put his hand up. I thought at that moment that was a transformation this was no longer a man. Well, I think that I think it was divine intervention but the effect that it had on Donald Trump, he was no longer just a political party’s nominee, or a former president, or a future president. This was the leader of a nation. And I think there’s a difference.” he added.
Carlson described former President Trump as the most caring politician he has met, after a lifetime of covering Washington D.C. He also made a jab at what many see as President Biden’s highly questionable election victory in 2020 with 81 million votes.
“His courage gave them heart. A leader’s courage gives courage to his people period. And the second thing I noticed which I don’t think anyone has remarked upon in public but I’m just going to since I’m on the script like, why not? Is that he turned down the most obvious opportunity in politics to inflame the nation after being shot,” Carlson told the crowd.
