A person was shot and killed by police on Tuesday near the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, where the Republican National Convention is being held, as confirmed by Fox News. The shooting took place near 13th Street and West Vliet Street, approximately two miles away from the Fiserv Forum.

The Milwaukee Police Association confirmed to Fox News that an “outside police agency” was involved in the shooting. A source from the Columbus police told Fox News that five officers from the department fired their weapons, resulting in the death of one person. The source also mentioned that no officers were injured. Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting.

According to a witness speaking to Fox News, the man who was fatally shot lived in a nearby homeless encampment and was wielding a knife at the time of the shooting. The incident sparked strong reactions from the local community, with several residents, some claiming to be friends and family of the deceased, confronting police for answers.

Tensions escalated when it was revealed that the individual was shot by officers from outside the area, leading to public outcry and criticism of the RNC for involving out-of-town law enforcement in local matters. “This also comes as Tuesday’s theme of the RNC is ‘Make America Safe Once Again’ and former President Donald Trump has called to address crime in Milwaukee,” Fox reported.
