Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has issued a statement following what several outlets report were shots fired at him as he began a rally in Butler, Pa., on Saturday.
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act. He is fine and he is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
Secret Service immediately surrounded the former president who fell to the stage after what sounded like four to five shots rang out. Armed agents then quickly ushered him to a nearby vehicle as federal agents and heavily armed SWAT personnel stormed the area.
As Trump was being moved to his vehicle, there appeared to be blood on the right side of Trump’s face and ear. He also pumped his fist several times as agents evacuated him.
“And then the worst president in the history of our country took over. And look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people [came in illegally]. And, you know, that’s a little bit old, that chart… that chart’s a couple of months old. And if you want to really see something that sad, take a look at what happened over…” Trump said before what sounded like gunfire rang out, noted Fox News.
