Former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felony charges on Thursday, but the news for him isn’t all bad.
A Manhattan Criminal Court jury delivered the verdict on charges involving falsification of business records after nearly 10 hours of deliberation. The historic trial marks the first instance of a former U.S. President being convicted in a criminal court, representing a monumental change in the landscape of American politics. The jury, made up of seven men and five women, arrived at their verdict in a case that has gripped the attention of the entire country and doesn’t appear to be good news for President Biden.
However, according to an exclusive snap poll conducted for the Daily Mail, the guilty verdict in Manhattan has actually boosted the former president’s popularity among likely voters as the 2024 election approaches.
Following Donald Trump’s conviction, there has been a shift in public perception towards him; 22 percent of respondents now see him in a more positive light, whereas only 16 percent have a more negative view, the survey found. The six-point net positive shift underscores the former businessman’s remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. In the context of a tightly fought election, such an increase in favorable views could potentially lead to his triumph.
“It was done last night right after the verdict, where I’m up six points,” former President Trump said of the poll on Friday. “Six points from what we already were. We were leading fairly substantially. We’re up six points in the DailyMail poll. Now, maybe other polls come out and it says something differently. But a lot of people have predicted it because the public understands.”
Trump’s campaign made a stunning announcement less than a day after a jury in Manhattan claimed he was somehow guilty of crimes that federal and state prosecutors for years mysteriously couldn’t see.
The Trump campaign announced on Friday morning that it had received a massive $34.8 million in small-dollar donations within the first 24 hours, with more donations expected. This puts the campaign on track to surpass the $10 million raised by President Joe Biden’s campaign after his 2024 State of the Union speech.

Online conservative personality Alex Bruesewitz, who maintains close ties to Trump’s inner circle, was effusive in praising the MAGA faithful for rising to the occasion. “TRUMP SHATTERS FUNDRAISING RECORDS AFTER RIGGED BIDEN TRIAL VERDICT,” he wrote on X. “30% of it came from first time Trump donors. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SEE THROUGH THE BS!”
The Trump campaign noted in a statement, “Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrats, with their election interference political witch hunt, have awakened the MAGA movement like never before.”
