A noted legal expert has indicated he believes Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis should be facing criminal charges alongside — or instead — of former President Donald Trump for allegedly giving false testimony on the stand last month during a hearing to have her removed from the case.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Dershowitz said Willis “ought to be on trial for perjury, conspiracy to commit perjury, and witness tampering.” He added: “The evidence is overwhelming that she committed perjury, including technical scientific evidence and several witnesses.”
The law professor’s remarks were made in response to a motion filed by Trump and eight other defendants in Willis’ RICO case. The motion, filed with the state court of appeals over the weekend, sought to remove the DA from the case for unethical behavior.
Last month, Judge Scott McAfee of the Georgia Superior Court ruled that prosecutor Nathan Wade must leave a case because of his affair with the person who appointed him and that if Wade continued to work on the case, the DA would also have to step down.
Following the ruling, Wade resigned from his position. However, Dershowitz asserted on Tuesday that there is “overwhelming” evidence indicating that Willis had received payment.
“Essentially, she got kickbacks for appointing this highly unqualified person to head the prosecution,” said Dershowitz. I sure hope the appellate court takes the case and throws her out and recommends that there be a criminal investigation. We have to have an independent prosecutor of some kind looking into what is an open and shut case of perjury.”
Critics accused Willis and Wade of perjury regarding their relationship start date, among other questionable testimony.
