Fox News host Laura Ingraham criticized Republicans, labeling their actions as an “utter embarrassment,” which comes on the same day when former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) was accused of pushing a fellow Republican colleague, and a Republican senator openly challenged a witness in a congressional hearing to a physical altercation.

“This is a Fox News alert,” Ingraham said on The Ingraham Angle on Tuesday. “We just got our hands on a new video of what’s been going down on Capitol Hill.”
Ingraham sarcastically remarked, “Well, it’s not too far off from the truth,” after airing a clip of the school brawl scene from the movie Mean Girls, suggesting that the political atmosphere is becoming increasingly contentious.
Ingraham highlighted the accusation against McCarthy, alleging that he bumped into Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) during an interview, following Burchett’s vote to remove McCarthy as speaker in October. McCarthy denied the claim. She also mentioned that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), tasked with McCarthy’s dismissal, has filed an ethics complaint against him.
Additionally, Ingraham noted an incident involving Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who reportedly used offensive language against Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) after he and other Republicans opposed her plan to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas as Homeland Security Secretary.
During an oversight committee hearing, Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz of Florida inquired about Republican Rep. James Comer’s (R-Ky.) family finances, prompting Comer to respond by resorting to calling him a name. Ingraham referred to this exchange as the oversight committee hearing having “devolved into kindergarten name-calling.”
“You look like a Smurf,” Comer told Moskowitz.
The insult “could be the best line ever,” Ingraham said before adding, “if those were the undercard bouts, then the Senate held its main event.”
Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma directed a blunt message to Sean O’Brien, the head of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, urging him to “stand your butt up” and resolve their conflict on the spot in the room.
The exchange ended when Sen. Bernie Sanders, chairman of the committee, directed Mullin to sit down.
“I never thought I’d say this, but Bernie Sanders seems to be the voice of reason here,” Ingraham said.
“Everything you just saw was a complete and utter embarrassment. It shouldn’t be what is projected to our kids from our nation’s Capitol. Reminder to all of you, yeah, the children are watching. You’re supposed to be the adults in the room. So act like it.”
