The late Rush Limbaugh had a knack for understanding conservatism as it applied to normal, working-class Americans and was able to connect those principles to the politics of the day like no other.

But he was also very visionary and prescient, able to forecast things months or even years before they happened. And whenever Limbaugh said things would happen, they almost always did.
Like that time, shortly before his death from lung cancer, when he predicted that Donald Trump’s political enemies would move to indict him so that he could not run for a second term, presumably because they believed he would win.
“I know that they desperately want Trump gone, and I know that they desperately want it codified that Trump cannot run again because make no mistake, they remain scared to death of you and they remain scared to death of Trump,” Limbaugh said.
“Trump’s 75 million, 80 million votes, and I’m going to tell you: you’re not going anywhere. Even if Trump does, you’re not,” he added.
Regardless of whether Trump was to be imprisoned, Limbaugh asserted that the strength of his grassroots support would persist, and the MAGA movement would continue to wield significant influence in American politics.
“They can’t separate you from Trump. And more importantly, they can’t separate you from the ideas. They can’t separate you from MAGA,” he said.
“They can’t separate you from Make America Great Again, which I think remains one of our big campaign strengths. They believe they can destroy this bond that exists between you and Trump.
“If they somehow make Trump look bad, make Trump look like a reprobate, embarrass you, they can’t do it because you came before Trump,” Limbaugh added.

Special counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump on 40 counts related to his handling of classified documents earlier this year. But he indicted Trump again on more federal charges on Tuesday related to the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol Building.
Following the Tuesday indictment, Fox News reported: “This is the second federal indictment the former president faces out of Smith’s investigation. Trump, who leads the 2024 GOP presidential primary field, has already pleaded not guilty to 37 counts related to his alleged improper retention of classified records from his presidency.”
Trump is facing multiple charges in that ongoing probe, which include alleged willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and false statements. Furthermore, Smith filed three additional counts through a superseding indictment as part of the same investigation last week.
