A Democrat in Congress is facing both an ethics complaint and a referral to the Department of Justice for slamming whistleblowers who testified before Congress about their knowledge of corruption as “bought and paid for.”

A report by the Federalist said the complaint was filed by Kash Patel, who was chief of staff to the acting secretary of defense while President Trump was on office.

The report, by Margot Cleveland, explains, “House Democrats are on a crusade to destroy the reputation of whistleblowers to save President Joe Biden and to run cover for those in the Justice Department and FBI who obstructed the investigation into the Bidens’ business dealings. But Republicans are starting to fight back.”

Named in the complaint, and referral, is Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y.

The charges accuse Goldman, after Congress heard the sworn testimony of FBI whistleblowers Garret O’Boyle, Steve Friend, and Marcus Allen during the Subcommittee on Weaponization’s hearing in May, of publicly stating that they were “bought and paid for” by Patel.

The charge explains, “The clear implication” was “that the witnesses lied under oath in exchange for payment by Mr. Patel.”

Goldman also stated Patel was “under investigation by the DOJ for leaking classified information.”

Goldman is accused of violating House rules, which state that a member “shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House,” the report said.

Further, his statements may have been criminal, the complaint notes, since “by making false statements on his official U.S. Government Twitter account, Rep. Goldman has arguably made a false entry on the record with the intent to impede or influence the investigation of the Select Subcommittee.”

The complaint explains that violates U.S. criminal code.

It undermines Goldman’s claims, stating Patel “is not under investigation by the DOJ for anything—much less leaking classified information”

Goldman’s office cited to The Federalist two “articles,” including one from the Washington Post claiming Patel was under investigation. Patel noted that was just “more lies through back peddling.”

The Federalist reported Friend said Goldman’s claims were absurd.

Others, in their agenda to defend and protect Joe Biden and his family, also have attacked whistleblowers. Goldman’s fellow New York Democrat, Rep. Jerry Nadler, the report said, falsely accused whistleblower Marcus Allen of receiving a $250,000 payout.

And, the report said, “Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, would later attempt to discredit the whistleblowers with the same tripe, although she couldn’t keep her villains straight, confusing money raised for the whistleblowers through a GoFundMe account organized by former FBI Agent Kyle Seraphin and the donations made by the charitable foundation established by Patel.”
