‘Small-time New Jersey attorney makes good’ is how this story goes.

When she was first hired in September 2021 by former President Donald Trump, attorney Alina Habba was part of a small firm a few miles from his Bedminster, N.J., golf club.

Now, after he replaced her before the civil case brought against him by gossip columnist E. Jean Carroll went to trial, she will become lead counsel from the growing “Save America” political action committee.

Reports indicate that Habba has been appointed as the legal spokesperson and general counsel for the Save America Leadership PAC. While fulfilling her role in the PAC, Habba will also continue to offer legal support to Trump on specific matters.

“It is an honor to be asked by such a leader as President Trump to help Save America,” Habba said. “Being able to devote more time to addressing publicly his many legal matters is the privilege of a lifetime.”

Official details regarding Habba’s departure from the direct legal team in the case have not been disclosed. However, this transition is anticipated to provide her with more flexibility to concentrate on her responsibilities within the PAC, allowing her to dedicate more time and attention to her duties there, Resist the Mainstream reported.

“Prior to this move, Habba had disclosed her involvement in seeking out classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, a move carried out in response to a subpoena,” the outlet noted.

“She has also come under scrutiny for the manner in which she articulated Trump’s defense following the leak of an audio recording from a meeting between them,” the report continued.

Trump has been maneuvering through various legal challenges and making adjustments to his defense team as necessary. In an investigation led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, he has pleaded not guilty to multiple felony charges.

That investigation focuses on allegations of falsified business records related to a payment purportedly made to Stormy Daniels.

“Trump also pleaded not guilty to federal charges in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s probe, which is centered around issues concerning the retention of classified documents,” notes Resist the Mainstream.
