GOP Rep. Nancy Mace of North Carolina has provided a scary explanation as to why she believes the Biden administration is trying so hard to convict former President Donald Trump of a bevy of felonies related to his handling of classified documents.
To begin with, during an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo, Mace criticized the “two-tiered system of justice,” arguing other political leaders including President Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former Vice President Mike Pence, are held to different standards than Trump.
“Every time the Oversight Committee has evidence of corruption, bribery, money laundering on the Biden family, they indict Donald Trump,” Mace said. “Joe Biden wants to give Donald Trump a death sentence for documents.”
She then added ominously: “They want him to die in jail.”
“Most of America sees this for what it is: It’s weaponizing the executive branch to take out your political enemies,” she said.
Mace then referenced Clinton, who she said is “bragging” about the “two-tiered system of justice” and even raising money from it after promoting a “But Her Emails” hat on Twitter.
She also ripped on Biden and Pence for both having classified materials; both were vice presidents and thus did not possess any authority to declassify anything on their own.
On the same day that the Oversight Committee obtained access to suspicious activity reports regarding alleged Biden family corruption, Mace mentioned that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Trump.
Additionally, she noted that on the same day, the committee obtained access to a 1023 form suggesting bribery involving the president and his son in Ukraine, Trump faced a second indictment.
“We next need to subpoena more bank records,” Mace said when asked what the Oversight Committee would do about the investigation into President Biden and his family. “I want to go back to Treasury … I want to re-review the suspicious activity reports, and start to connect those dots because what we do know, the layering, the scheme of shell companies — and it said this in the 1023 document we reviewed on Thursday — they made it complicated. They bragged how it would take the U.S. government ten years to follow the money.”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), another guest on the show, told Bartiromo that she no longer has faith in the DOJ or the FBI based on “how they’re conducting” the investigations.
“We had to literally threaten the head of the FBI with contempt of Congress and even then they gave us a document that was still mostly redacted,” Luna said. “They are accountable to the American people, they are accountable to Congress. … If we don’t do anything, it’s lost. This country is lost.”
