FBI Director Christopher Wray appears to have confirmed the existence of a document that has been subpoenaed by a committee in the GOP-controlled House but is still refusing to turn it over.

The FD-1023 form presents allegations suggesting the involvement of then-Vice President Joe Biden in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national.

The initial disclosure of this information came to public attention through a series of tweets by the House Oversight Committee and Rep. James Comer (R-KY).

The Oversight Committee’s tweet revealed that Director Wray had allowed the unclassified record to be reviewed at the FBI but had not yet fulfilled the committee’s request to provide the document.

The tweet also cautioned that failure by the FBI to comply with the subpoena mandating the submission of the FD-1023 form could result in Comer, the committee’s chairman, initiating contempt of Congress proceedings.

FBI Director Wray has confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” the committee’s tweet says.

“He’s allowing this unclassified record to be reviewed at the FBI but hasn’t produced it to committee. If the FBI fails to hand over the FD-1023 form as required by the subpoena, @RepJamesComer will begin contempt of Congress proceedings,” the tweet added.

Following that, Comer took to his personal Twitter account to express his frustration with the FBI, emphasizing that failure to provide the requested documents to the committe would constitute a violation of the subpoena.

His tweet confirmed his direct correspondence with Wray regarding this issue, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.

Here’s Comer’s statement:

Today, FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national. However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.

While Director Wray – after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed – has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena.

If the FBI fails to hand over the FD-1023 form as required by the subpoena, the House Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings.
