Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave his Republican critics yet another reason to consider his impeachment in remarks he made to a far-left cable news network on Sunday.

In an interview with MSNBC, Mayorkas called it “sad and tragic” when governors secure their states’ borders amid what many Republicans have called an “invasion” of illegal migrants, many of whom are military-aged males traveling alone.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin posted video of the overcrowding at the Border Patrol’s processing center in El Paso, Texas.

He wrote: “NEW: Video courtesy of TX Congressman @RepTonyGonzales office shows significant overcrowding in Border Patrol’s Central Processing Center in El Paso, TX on Friday. He says they have a max capacity of around 1,000, but there were 6,000 that day. This room capacity 120, but had 750.”

The host went on to ask Mayorkas if governors taking action to protect their citizens from illegal invaders is “even Constitutional.”

Whatever you think of Fox News after the Tucker Carlson debacle, it’s the only major news network covering the chaos at the border with any seriousness and depth.

Earlier, Melugin posted another disturbing video of a migrant chain that was hundreds of yards long.

“NEW: Remarkable video from our Fox drone team shows an enormous line of hundreds of migrants who just crossed illegally into Brownsville, TX this evening. A large majority of them are single adults. The RGV continues to see a massive surge of illegal crossings ahead of T42 drop.”

Melugin also reports a major drop in illegal border crossings after Title 42 expired, and the administration is taking credit for that.

But critics say the timing is suspect since the administration could have begun enforcing existing immigration laws two years ago when Biden took office, and outgoing President Donald Trump handed him the lowest illegal crossing rate in four decades.
